  1. I’m just sat in the mule next to one of the pens having a watch and listen. It won’t be long and the nights will be long and the daylight short and I will be sat on the sofa at this time bored shitless . The sound of the pheasants flying up to roost in their hundreds makes me feel content that I’ve got them this far and they are still here and looking healthy and fit . Won’t be long before we start shooting , 12th October for us . I can also here a Muntjac buck barking in the distance. A hornet just flew past making a very deep buzzing sound that had me on alert . Then a plane went over an

  3. Good sensible comments lads... I know for a fact, that certain coursing Studs can command a high price for their services, and any resulting pups will not be sold cheap. Obviously, when a breeder has paid a £1000 for a lining, he is entitled to ask what he likes, for his pups. I've never mixed in such company, and my lurchers ain't in the same league, so I always try to breed a pup, solely for my own requirements. Once, I have my choice to hand, the rest of the litter can then be placed in other, safe hands. As a pensioner, my needs are modest,..I don't want money,...

  4. ? Whenever I plan for a litter, I consider two things. Firstly,...I make sure that I've located enough good men, to gift a pup too, and, secondly, I start stocking-up, on Lactol and raw meat. Pups need placing in their new homes, as soon as possible,..so in actual fact, you only really have to feed them, for a few weeks... It ain't really a costly business...?

  5. After a squirrel session last night I checked a cut grass field just gone dark and yep there was a fox so tonight I sat and watched it go dark. Pheasants went to roost and bats and owls swooped and called into the tree just 22 yards into the field from the oak I was sat against in the hedge. From nowhere this large fox trotted left to right. As it was 30yds away it went behind the tree in front of me. In a single swift movement the safety came off and the the rifle was mounted. Turned out the fox came to the tree and came around to my side now staring straight at me. In a split

  6. if you mate any old dog to any old bitch willy-nilly and feed the bitch and let her do the rest pups are cheep to rear and should be priced accordingly , if you take time years of experience to make your choice of stud based on his working ability witch you have seen and taken in with your own eyes for several seasons, not five minuets or what someone else said is a good dog, and took into account its pedigree and how that compliments your bitch and therefore its offspring, sat up all night to make sure all is well with welping etc given them and your bitch the best care, food etc, wormers

  9. Health has got a bit interesting again of late, so I've decided (again) more me time. I used to be really into my shore and boat fishing (more shore) but work, life and a smallholding have put all this on the back burner for way too long. So I've decided the quickest easy fix to fit in at the drop of a hat is bass lure fishing, well Pollack, mackerel etc too if they are around. I've still got a lot of tackle here, but I wanted a dedicated lure rod. So today after hospital retail therapy was in order. Came out with these and a handful of lures. Next week better tides an

  11. Good on ya mate. I regularly make myself stop & just appreciate what I've got. I know exactly what you mean about the sounds & feeling content you've done a good job. For me the noise that evokes that is when a ewe starts chattering to her newborn as she's cleaning it. 20 years and still I love it.

  13. The main entrance hall is an amazing place, with the Darwin statue and bust of the famous hunter Frederick Selous, the Mammoth skeleton etc. But most of all just the architecture. It's such a grand entrance. With the landings and the 360 degree 1st floor landing there are so many angles to view the blue whale. One day I'd like to attend a formal lecture and evening 'do' there. It's a grand place and I'd like to experience a truly grand event.

Hi Phil, Mitch ,, I got an answer back from Liam, he basically recommended that if I'm around 860-870 fps with the MK11 heavies that is where I should be, the Regulator is indeed set at factory to 120 bar, some are slightly higher, he said that to try and do anything after this will come at a cost of either shot count, accuracy, or both, As I am not suffering accuracy issues or shot count from what the factory publishes, best let sleeping dogs lay.

  19. It would be interesting to weigh him . A 20lb plus fox is big around my way . Are you doing that old carp fisherman’s trick of holding it near the camera? ? I shot a big fox a few years ago and took it to a mates place to weigh it on his fishing scales . He had a terrier there and decided he wanted to see if it would rag the dead fox , he got it out and shook it in front of the dog , the dog got his lipstick out and started to try and hump the dead fox . I raised an eyebrow, he said “don’t tell anyone about this “. Of course not !!!?

We had a look out yesterday to what proved a tricky spot last season, so with longnets, ferrets and lurchers in tow we tried again, the weather was far from ideal with wind and rain, on our approach several rabbits, that were braving the elements made there way to ground, once we got 200yrds of longnets round the first bit of warren, I entered the trio of albinos I got off iworkwhippets, and my mate put 3 of his in the other side, it wasn’t long before the rabbits were on the move, bolting nicely into the waiting nets, the nettles offering abit of cover for the rabbits, the ferrets worked ver

Hes fast hasnt got that laid back running style you can hear hes jaw snapping when he runs but has enough coursing blood to give him that sticky style forcing mistakes out of things. I genuinly think they be chancy myself and hes brother ted notntoo far from you.

Ted's holdover, Matt Dubber, Giles and loads of others have grouped together to combine resources and have a joint channel. There is plenty of stuff to watch on here guys. Giles with an interesting vid with the .30 FX Crown is worth watching. https://airgun101.com/ Phil
