  4. After a squirrel session last night I checked a cut grass field just gone dark and yep there was a fox so tonight I sat and watched it go dark. Pheasants went to roost and bats and owls swooped and called into the tree just 22 yards into the field from the oak I was sat against in the hedge. From nowhere this large fox trotted left to right. As it was 30yds away it went behind the tree in front of me. In a single swift movement the safety came off and the the rifle was mounted. Turned out the fox came to the tree and came around to my side now staring straight at me. In a split

  5. It would be interesting to weigh him . A 20lb plus fox is big around my way . Are you doing that old carp fisherman’s trick of holding it near the camera? ? I shot a big fox a few years ago and took it to a mates place to weigh it on his fishing scales . He had a terrier there and decided he wanted to see if it would rag the dead fox , he got it out and shook it in front of the dog , the dog got his lipstick out and started to try and hump the dead fox . I raised an eyebrow, he said “don’t tell anyone about this “. Of course not !!!?

  7. Some of you may have already seen this video as it has built up quite a bit of traction online. To set the scene I was fishing on my own - as I often do, on my 16ft Orkney 520. Intended target was porbeagle sharks over a group of reefs and ground. I will let the video tell the rest of the story....

  14. You start by coming to the conclusion the photo is fake after I put it up as an example of a fake ???then it’s a no to going and speaking with people who can show you how wrong you are, a comparison to ring ouzels and another meaningless link, I,ve tried but think it easier to just ignore. You just put a comparison to the lock ness monster, really shows the limits you are working with good luck in what ever your into you,ll be needing it

  15. Had a mooch around the cow field next to the rape to finally try the NV on the 17.Not a bad start 2 within 5 minutes of pulling up, still light. First one a good clean head shot at 90 yards then next 75 yards. This was before even getting to the cow field. As I got to the field no sign of the cows, they were in the next field, winner game on. I thought it strange that there was no rabbits about? Now this field is usually bouncing. Then a quick scope around i spot a vixen with a cub in tow. Sods law no caller! Tried a mouth squeek but couldn't get them in to a good back stop?

  16. I had to pop down to the coast to see my brother this evening and as an afterthough took a rod in the hope of grabbing an hour's mullet fishing. Unfortunatly it was obvious that I either I was too inept to tempt one or had left it a bit late in the season and they were no longer in the river. Bread certainly had no pulling power so I tried a bunch of maggots. I had one bite that produced a suicidal 2 inch bass and one other that resulted in this!

  28. Nice going Walshie . The moon and lack of wind has made shooting difficult. Sunday should bring a bit of damper conditions. I’ve been knocking a few foxes over myself recently , amongst other things . ?

  31. I was just joking with max lol. Ali was a true great. Will still be talked about long after tyson fury is dead and buried ? And just to clarify, ali fought some of the alltime greats and beat them, fury's fought no-one really and is still struggling like f**k with rank outsiders lol ? And to coin a much used cliche on this great site, that really is a FACT!! Lol ?

  32. Jigsaw, the best shavings I’ve found for pups are called bedmax, they come in a big yellow bale and are big flakes of shavings, you don’t want the small dusty ones, you can get them from the agriculture store chain called wynnstay stores, not sure if you get them in Ireland thow ?
