  2. So I gathered up the long one and headed up to the sheep farm for a wonder, on arrival we had half an hour chat with my good mate who’s running the farm while farmer John is away enjoying a bit of sun before the hard work starts, we headed down the farm to the wheat and rape stubbles, past the sheep to the top gate, a quick run round the field with the lamp and there was the eye shine, passing the lamp to longshanx I mounted the rifle and gave a few blasts on the caller, the ginger headed straight towards us stopping about 75 yards ish from us on the stubbles, with the wind behind us it knew t

  3. ....a star. Look what he sent, what a gent. Not just the cartridge fox callers and extra squeakers but a little oil squirter and a degreaser and some fancy grease! The cases are 6.5 swede which brings back fond memories too. Thank you so much Si. Very kind. I'm off to try them out now in some maize! SD.

  4. That reminded me of this. Jack O’Connor once wrote: “Sheep Hunters are Romantics, who love high places and solitude. To them the wild ram embodies the mystery and magic of the mountains, the rocky canyons, the snowy peaks, the fragrant alpine meadows, the gray slide rock, the icy dancing rolls fed by snowbank and glacier, the sweet clean air of the high places, and the sense of being alone on the top of the world with the eagles, the marmots, and the wild sheep themselves.” Not sheep country but still, Glen Coe, Scotland. A Cathedral of nature.

  6. ....I got two vixens tonight! One was straight forward. A 100 yard off hand shot. She only had one eye but otherwise healthy. The second Vixen was a messy affair with a lot of luck thrown in! I spotted her across the stream from the stubble field I was in to the pasture strip she was in. Behind her was noisy maize from the wind that hid my noisy approach to a handy round bale. By the time I got to the bale she was just in the hedge of the maize field so I squealed. Well she came in a treat, jumped the stream and bingo a rested 50yarder.....missed! Can't of I said. Wen

There's a lift that will take you to the top and a refuge/bar/hostel at the top. 21€ a night, hot showers etc and God fuuck me amazing view and loads of walking along the peaks and ridges. If you want to get high up and see some shit. It's a place as good as any Barren as fook mind lol

  10. The problem with old school keepers is that you aren’t dealing with country people any more, who don’t want to offend the local landowner because they live in one of their cottages or work on the land . No , most are city dwellers who have made a pot of money and are looking to escape the our ethnically diverse cities. “No the poor can enjoy the cosmopolitan , ethnically diverse, multicultural inner city dream “. The same liberal do gooders who are no doubt remoaners , who have allowed our towns to be overrun.....rant over . You see , you can’t lay down the law to these people, because they ar

  12. I’ve no love of cats . I think there owners are delusional animal lovers who basically unleash a miniature tiger on the local wildlife/ bird population and choose to ignore the death and destruction their beloved pet causes. But I am also savvy enough to know the shit storm that killing pets causes . And also I think of the kids who love their pet moggy . So I am ultra switched on to making 100% sure that what I’m shooting is not a cat . It’s quite rural around here and I don’t think I get feral cats , I think they are mostly pets . But if I had a feral cat problem I would have no problem deal

  17. That’s bang out of order, they don’t tend to make it back home with a .243 size hole in them, you would think a vet could tell the difference between a road accident and being shot, I f*cking hate cats and cat owners ( my wife has a cat ?)

  21. Take some pics if you can mate i always think theres something special about being high up like that... almost spiritual ?.....not sure id fancy anything too drastic id draw the line at mountaineering type stuff but the peace and silence when you finally reach even a small peak like this was certainly worth the effort getting there....rewarding in a way.

  23. Well there was a bit of a stewards inquiry at the top when im stood there perched against the pillar and my pal appeared out of nowhere claiming to have been walking around taking in the view for the last 5 minutes ? Theres 3 different routes up so i went for the most direct ( but steepest ) another lad went for the longest ( but easiest ).......the other tried to create his own and got f****n lost ! In all fairness the one who said he was taking in the views is fit as f**k it did cross my mind to ambush him and tie him to a tree......so alls fair in love and hill climbing he copped

  26. We just went in there on a Friday night. The landlord gave us some of his homegrown chilli sauce. It was like the b*****d had lit a fire in my face!! There was a heavy metal band playing and the place was f***ing rammed. admittedly the place could have done with a bit of attention from a feather duster but I had an awesome time there.

Just in case there is anyone who doesn’t believe that British politics, the established order and direction of travel needs smashed to bits to try something new.......I’ll just leave this perversion of life here! If you don’t think you are living in a f***ing asylum then you need your bumps felt ! Id say free mobile roaming is the f***ing least of your worries ! (Yes, it’s a real advert.....this poster is on Oxford Street !)

  36. Not got a clue , a jipsy lady had 18 pups for sale, she was walking round my area selling them for £30, they were 2 1/2 weeks old, eyes and ears still shut. My neighbor brought 3 of which 2 died, I took last one one off him and hand reared him. She was selling them as Lhasa apso cross westie, but he doesn't have none of them in him, he is a proper mongral ?. He is a great dog, great company while out ferreting and shooting, good at making, great with the kids, hand on heart he has never done anything wrong in and out of the house, he is 6 year old now

  39. Hopefully these few old pictures and some of recollections from my early teens (the late 1950’s and early 1960’s) may be of some interest. They’re all old style “rag whippets” and pre date the requirement for a whippet to be registered with the Kennel Club in order to enter a race. Typically these dogs ran from about 14-20 lbs (sometimes smaller) and anything past say the mid 20’s would be questioned as to whether it was actually a true whippet (rather than maybe a whippet x greyhound). At that time, my father ran a “drinkers pub” in the heart of the Black Country (aka the Industrial Midl
