  1. No offence Hatch..... but if you think the registered packs would give up a single day's hunting to help protect terrierwork then I'm afraid you're very much mistaken. On this side of the pond, the future King and other members of the Royal family (which have been less widely broadcast), as well as several Prime Ministers ranging from David Cameron to Winston Churchill and beyond have all supported fox hunting and have followed registered packs on a regular basis. But look at where we are now ?

  4. So longshanx took me to one of his spots last night for a bit of bunny bashing, a walk around the farm to start with, a few about but with the wheat and the beans still up they soon vanished into the crop, so after a couple we headed down to a cut rape field with a cow field to the left, again just a couple along the edge of the cut but when we got to the cow field “JESUS “ the place was covered in them, now this field os sat at the back of a holiday park so with the rimfires we are a bit limited as to where we can shoot, so trekking around so we could shoot down towards the rape field we mana

  6. I will totally agree that the British Government have been as much of a villain in all this as everyone else......but I don’t agree they are the only villain. The perverse dance we have witnessed the last 3 and a bit years has only ever been about one thing.......how to overturn the result of a legitimate democratic vote that every (british) politician said they would honour. Now, I will say again, that should matter to you as much as it matters to any “leave” voter IF you value your democratic freedom.......if you don’t, then of course you will be in favour of whatever most benefits

  9. At the time the IWTF was formed, terrierwork in Ireland in Ireland was under a very real threat and one of the most senior and influential Irish politicians had already described terrierwork as “a hunt too far.” Some 18 months later I was an invited guest at the IWTF AGM and by then that very same politician was describing terrierwork as “a necessary form of pest control” (all of this is a matter of public record and you can look it up for yourself). It’s no mean feat to get politicians to do U Turns and particularly in such a public manner. All of this was down to the IWTF and it showed

  10. Yea if we have the back stop then we are still in the bloody EU. As for May's Deal it's a crap deal and you got to be able to walk away from a bad deal. Parliament will not vote through any deal now as the majority of MP's want to remain in. The EU will not open the Deal up again for discussion. So what are we left with? Simple NO DEAL ! So lets get on with democracy and get out of the corrupted mafia still bloody EU. Cheers Arry

  12. We live in an ever changing world and Chilli has hit the nail on the head. For the past 35 years one of the increasingly important roles of well run and well supported Terrier Clubs, is that collectively they form and are the National Working Terrier Federation. It is they, along with a tiny handful of generous individuals (including one regular poster to this forum), who between them have over the years funded and defended terrierwork against a wide variety of harmful legislation. It is because of its network of clubs that the NWTF has been able to speak collectively on behalf of terrierwork

  14. Worst part about it is the lads doing the work get the stick. I used to be chairman in my local gun club. I got nothing only abuse from the lads that didn't carry their weight. All lads are plenty willing to be critical but won't pull their weight. Its a thankless job running any club.

  16. Getting towards end of the rut here so decided on a look locally to see if I could catch up with a buck I’ve seen sign of but no sightings yet . Fields all cut for big bale hay which I’ve found in the past is a big bonus for calling . Spotted a doe and a follower browsing on a hedge way down by the river field and using the bales managed to get to within 100 yds . Called softly and and she immediately ran towards me causing a response from a buck behind me unseen that charged past me to within 4m to get to the doe that’s closing the gap fast . Whether she was in season or not , she lead

  18. The reports sound good compared to the slating they got years ago. They sound like a nice busy hunting type but would they stay to ground like a good patterdale. I'd prefer if they didn't stay if bushing loose. Many a watery dog got me home in time for Sunday dinner when they didn't stay.?. My Uncle and my grand uncle had bushing Russell's decades back before they knew what trackers were or could afford them. They hated them types as they would stay down 2 or 3 days without been able to locate them when deep. I wish I had them now and stick a collar on them. The problem was when running them

  20. Some talk like they're buying into the media bullshit that terrierwork is some kind of evil and that we're lucky to have it! Its a field sport just like any other to be enjoyed and to be proud of. Terrierwork is part of our proud heritage and culture and carried out correctly can easily be justified. These are our countries, free countries where different religion, beliefs, cultures, customs and traditions are to be respected. Make no mistake it's our "right" to carry out all our traditional sports as our forefathers have done before us. These things should never be political footballs for any

New world of technology i send my money to the CA every month if a club could be formed with direct debit by someone who's not going to f**k off with the money , always got be carefull of the top bananas out there , I'm up for it , we live interesting times , terrier work is legal for the protection of game birds and as we all know shooting is really under attack , so we have to stand with them , if the NWTF want funding I and many others im sure are willing to send in a few £ a month and if a donor club is set up do any designs art work , so let's see if the next generation are more than chea

  25. Anyone I met in it were decent lads. Don't tar everyone with the same brush. Its hard to check out everyone's background but in general they are good bunch of lads. They do a lot to keep terrier work legal here.If somebody was known for certain to be a dog thief then membership would be revoked. Paying €10 a year doesn't break the bank either to join. It could be the difference in keeping legal terrierwork. The NARGC was ready to throw us under the bus last time to save gameshooting only for a change of government. Any support is better than none. Like most clubs everyone won't agree all the ti

  27. If it was not for NWTF we would not have terrier work as it is today and It would have been banned years ago if it wasn't for the tireless work done by the man who runs the NWTF. I won't name the man who runs it on here but I for one appreciate everything he does for us and terrier work.

  28. I would disagree. 20 years ago any lads I knew doubled up dogs. With the bellman an flint single handed digging dogs became the normal. Some of those old dogs were watery as fcuk.Every old dude seems to think things we're better years ago. All I see from them is contrary old b*****ds that can't dig like a young lad but have an opinion about how it should be done.? You can't beat youth kicking the end of a graft.Im only 38 and I can't even dig like I could 5 year ago. You must be a lot older.Thats not saying you don't have more knowledge. It just means you can't dig like you used to. There is

  30. Hi Glyn Personally speaking, I view anything which serves to draw terriermen and woman together and enables them to act collectively to defend and promote terrierwork, as being nothing but a positive move. I wouldn’t necessarily see the two things as being mutually exclusive, but more as complementing each other for a common goal. Neither do I see any reason why such a "club" couldn't form part of the NWTF alongside the more "traditional" terrier clubs. On the downside, I’m sure any such move would face similar challenges to the more “traditional” terrier clubs, not least a willingn

Anytime mate...more often than not its Left Ventricular Hypertrophy or Atrial Enlargement just where the walls thicken due to volume overload....the problem is that it has to work harder and obviously high bp......surprisingly there hasnt been too many studies done but they say around 20% of athletes 5 years after retirement will still have an enlarged heart...ace inhibitors or angio receptor blockers are very effective in treatment but yes the majority of the time the heart will return to normal size. But Francie dont be caught into thinking its purely steroids that cause this.....any fu

  41. Doesn't sit well with me. With the mercosur deal, the E.U. has agreed to allow in 99,000 tonnes of South American beef into Europe for resale, mercosur wanted 350,000 tonnes to come in. The trade deal has been ongoing for 20 years. Agriculture has been sold out to its detriment everywhere in Europe over the last 50 years, even though it's getting more efficient and still a main business driver in all European countries with lots of other industries living off the back of it. The beef protestors in Ireland are protesting outside factories at the price been given by the processors

  44. As young dogs the two i introduced to them were totaly fine, they'd go out ratting then drink from the same bowl as ferrets and never once did i have any problems. One was better than the other at ferreting with them as he was more laid back and if any other dog was presant he'd be over protective of the ferrets,a good few folks ferret with them and i think Katchum on here does with his lads one..

  47. Personally think it’s absurd that badgers are protected they should be able to be controlled, perhaps not completely unchecked but definitely need controlling in some way. The damage there digging does to the land is unbelievable and as stated they are very destructive to other animal species. There numbers have increased 10 fold round my way they are basically a pest that you aren’t allowed to do anything about.
