Well it's different for me. I have shoots all around me but being a loner and anti social weirdo I just keep on top of vermin and then I get birds walking of shoots looking for peace. I do have some wild birds on me but their young get hammered by buzzards and fox's. I have to hope a few fresh hens appear and settle in the wild ones and just take the cocks. No I don't get any driven birds but I still get to hunt them with my dog and often with flint or cap lock which makes it special. So thanks gents for the odd bird or two ?

I’ve changed my diet massively in the last 4 months counting all my calories. I was 130.7kg a few months back after dropping to 112.7kg. I’ve cut my portion sizes and the weight has fell of if I can get under the 100 I’ll be more than happy. I still go out for dinner once a week but I try mind what I eat each other day. I don’t feel bloated any more and generally feel much healthier.

Thought I was being quiet reasonable at 400, there are plenty of pups being sold at a grand and over that are no better bred

I do love shooting driven birds . I’m lucky to get invited to some amazing end of season shoots on some fairly famous shoots . After loading for useless guns , watching them miss and wanting to snatch the gun off them and have a go myself it’s nice to get stuck in . Like you I also get a buzz from running a successful days shooting . I also do a Boxing Day shoot for my helpers and a proper driven day for the beaters and also a “clean up “ day after the beaters day , this is an informal walk around , we try and do a couple of drives but if it happens it happens and there is no pressure. Off hand I would say that would have been an act of God ? laying down is my preference these days, I went through a stage where I was saying take the shot off hand with some success but I seem to default back to my preferred laying down and blending in position. And my scope is zeroed in at a hundred yards which seems to give good results, I also had a couple of rabbits that were 120 + last night there a good little gun had my one about ten years now.

That's understood I've seen old dudes piss up mountains leaving young fellas behind with stamina but speed and strength no, unless they were previously stronger than that time. I've never seen a man faster and stronger at 70 than his peak between 25 and 40. I,ve been accosted on two occasions for fly tipping, on both occasions I was picking up other people’s dumped rubbish, I think in this country councils place so many restrictions on using your local tip they encourage fly tipping and if they are successful in there latest campaign to charge you for the pleasure of taking your own rubbish to the tip, the fly tipping will go through the roof ?
