Well the story so far is I’ve had birds delivered to two pens so far , I’ve got another two to be delivered this week . The first pen has settled in really well and I’ve had no problems from Charlie......I’m touching a big lump of wood as I write this , no pun intended ?. The second pen was delivered Friday, the first night was good , anyway Saturday evening and I’m off to check the first pen and I noticed that all the water had drained from the IBC ..... shit !!! So I had to go and fill it up with 1000 litres which I do by pumping water from an already filled up IBC into one that’s on the bac9 points

That's keepering mate and how I lost my hair. I don't do it now but just in case it helps my old keeper friend would leave his shirt hanging up wind from the pen of an evening! If you were closer I would donate my underpants then you may actually witness the very rare event of a fox actually vomiting but alas I am sure yours would be just as effective.7 points

no one breed or strain stands out, just individual dogs, and there are to many ways of using a running dog for rabbits, that's why no one can agree, and why an ultimate rabbit dog does not exist, the safe option for what you want is a whippet, to many variables in cross breds, imho with coursing dogs one type started to stand out, selective breading did the rest, be great to do the same with rabbiters but as said to many variables.7 points

Took Green Lurchers out for a few hours trolling a few Rapala's in search of a few Bass,me and a pal have a small boat and a spot which does quite well on a dropping tide so we sorted a trip for sunday. We set off in lovely conditions with high water just about there so we had a hour or so to just chug around and see if we could pick up something before the tide ran hard,my pal was first to hook up and poor old GL's face when it went back as it was a tad under size as he had his cool box already open and was dribbling at the chops with the thought of fresh Bass on a barbee ,well the tide turne6 points

After binning Sky and BT sports off because they are far to expensive i spent most of yesterday afternoon sorting out a TV package through a firestick. Eventually i succeeded just after tea time, Mrs M likes to watch various things on the box so all was well again. I watched a film with her till eleven after which she said she was off to bed to watch something or other and i said i will go out for an hour or two. I decided to go down the road from me partly because it only takes two minutes but also because i thought they would have cut the grass. After getting my gear together and jumpin5 points

When my brother died, I did the same, only for a short while. Hit the drink and scrapping. My dad.. he hasn't stopped since 2003. His way of coping put him in hospital the other week because his blood-alcohol levels were too low ? He lost his son, his sister and his dad in the space of fuuck all years. We all deal with shit different but drink and drugs should never be the path.5 points

I’ve always liked Vinnie , crap footballer ? He was a presence on the pitch and an enforcer. The Wimbledon “crazy gang “ with Fash the bash were a hard nut to crack and intimidated themselves to a fair bit of success. Talk about making the most of what life throws your way , he was a half decent footballer who went a lot further in the game than more talented footballers around him , and the same can be said of his acting . But I wouldn’t knock someone for doing well with very little, that’s to be admired surely ? I think however he has acted like a bit of a dick ( the airplane incident) and o5 points

She's started pestering me to come alot lately so decided to, personally think bait collection is as big a part as the fishing. She walked out across with me over the mud and then was 'catching' the worms as I dug. We managed about 4.5lbs and she thoroughly enjoyed it. All in all not a bad hour and half and she earnt a 5er for helping her dad4 points

I have done a bit of that "waiting at the pen caper" for a keeper mate of mine. Quite often they don't turn up till the early hours . If he has had one coming every night i have often bit the bullet and stayed till it has made an appearance to minimise the damage they do. He had one last season that turned up and would kill twenty or so that where outside the pen and leavethem in piles of four or five on the field. I killed that after two nights.3 points

I don’t know how effective hanging up my budgie smugglers would be , my guess is it would attract the “wrong” kind of attention ?I was also told about something similar, soaking some cut up rags in aftershave and leaving it around the pen “ old spice “ I believe is the most repellent, followed by Brute then Blue stratos , or Hi karate . Have I just described the contents of your bathroom cabinet sausage? But I think the most effective deterrent is a . 223 rem , just behind its front leg in the rib cage , works every time !!!3 points

No different than the modern terrier men, you can't get a straight answer out of most of them .3 points

Nice write up fireman and GL photo's. Nice when a plan comes together. I'm sure that tasted as good as it looks. Oh by the way GL finding lots of Samphire up the estuary's, would have gone well with them Bass. Cheers Arry3 points

Not pulling the pic and maybe it's not always on the chain, but seen a dog hanging while on a chain in the same sort of place mate, the dog had gone beyond the coping bricks and when it had jumped down the chain didn't pull over the lip.I was weighing in some bricks at a rec yard and it was the owners dog and it would have died had i not just turned up during dinner hour..Fare to say the fella knocked the chain off the wall there and then and tied the dog up else where.3 points

I spent a long time reading and researching different mixes and breeds. Spoke to a few on here over PM about theirs to get some more info. 99% of what I plan on doing will be bunnies either ferreting or lamping/mooching so was looking whippet and beddy whip but then I fancied summat that could have a go at the other 1%. Spoke to a few different lads with litters but got things from 'be ready at 5-6wks' or even as far as 'mother isn't here anymore' so didn't bother looking. Then a chap on here put me onto em. He had grandsire and also the mother's sibling I think. Right mix for3 points

I'm chuffed the slow worms are back. I have a compost pile that I leave and there used to be loads of slow worms but a rat dug into it in the winter and must have fed on them, but they are coming back. The rat will not be back or a least not that one. Cheers Arry3 points
