Managed a few short trips over Christmad and a good day today with the ferrets, mainly bolting out of hedges to the dogs...I've banged a write up in the ferreting section, but thought I'd chuck a couple of pics up here...not big numbers but great fun and the big dog is switched on to it more and more now...been nice to watch...10 points

Took kids out ferreting today as they both have their own small ferrets. We did two sets and got 41 mainly through purse nets and a bit of long netting missed a few. Was watching my 12 year old daughter running the long net out made me very proud as would rather they be outside in the fresh air, keeping them fit and strong. We were out for 3 hours and everything going well and we were off after this set as we had got enough then two or three baby rabbits came out and one of the ferrets decided to lay up about 8ft down, I very rarely have to dig for them as they are only small and struggle9 points

Been a while since I've written up a report so after a tricky day thought I'd share a few pics etc... The plan was an 8am leave from mine to get to the farm 10 mins up the road, Sean c and Sam were meeting here and Finley said he'd get up and come along...Christmas has taken its toll on the kids so it was a case of dragging him out of bed.. Once we got to the farm I popped my head in the lambing barn where the lady farmer was in the middle of feeding, I offered mine and the kids services (again) to help with the lambing..but she said it was slow going....so after a few pleasan5 points

I'm with BASC because most of the land owners around here recognise them instantly when they see the membership card. ........ It costs me £5 a month for what looks like quite good liability insurance (hopefully I'll never have to use it ?) I also get sent a shit magazine now and again - it's full of shotguns, tweed and a crap Matt Manning article5 points

I had it with a pup years ago ... pup was fed a healthy balanced raw flesh bone fruits and veg diet the same as I had fed plenty of other pups but for some reason developed hollow spots in the front legs and had just started bowing when I lowered the protein added calcium and caged the pup 2 weeks later was right as rain and I slowly introduced the protein back in and she grew to be a stunning strong animal ........5 points

Well after all the hard work and challenges training it’s finally paid off took my pup out today ferreting, nice cold morning bit of frost lack of rabbits have made it hard to get the dog around any rabbits but this morning I got her on a nice little warren 6 holes and bolted 2 in the nets dog covered the nets nicely so I thought I’d leave a net off and if one bolted she could run it and I sat her down and within a few moments could hear bumping the dogs ears were pinned up and just as that rabbit bolted the dog was there and snapped it up straight out the hole brought it back live and release5 points

After last week's sorty at the woods , I decided to head back there this morning for a couple of hours Parked up outside a stable block that sits beside the woods and got the dog out and the wildcat and headed inside the woods . I love the wildcat and is the perfect rifle for the woods ? Got myself settled along with the dog ,poured a coffee and waited, it wasn't too long before a nice Willy crow pitched in I managed to get a decent reading on the rangefinder 43 yards give or take a yard ( its always tricky getting a good reading this time of year loads of twigs can play havoc with4 points

personally if it was me and the bitch was outstanding and not a middle of the road bitch then I would breed of her as with the right selective breed the under shot can be fixed4 points

Jiggs McDonald, NHL Hall of Fame broadcaster speaking in Ontario, says: "I am truly perplexed that so many of my friends are against another mosque being built in Toronto. I think it should be the goal of every Canadian to be tolerant regardless of their religious beliefs. Thus the mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance." "That is why I also propose that two nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque; thereby promoting tolerance from within the mosque. We could call one of the clubs, which would be gay, "The Turban Cowboy," and the other, a topless ba4 points

you know what I am on about bill its clever kunts that just want to look big or tough buying these dogs, I know they have a place, but its not in the hands of wankers with their hats on back to front, and if the idiots are not buying them from RESPECTABLE breeders where are they getting them from.i will tell you other idiots, if being used by proper people for a proper job I am all in favour no probs.4 points

been having a right mission trying to get the impact back on the money since I altered the reg to use 30+ grain pellets! ive dropped it back down to suit 25's and I think its about there but cant get the pellets that I know work well all group at 50 but were turning to sh1t at 80... after fcukin about for ages and a few tweaks its about as good as I can get it with the jsb's, this is a full mag! so sort of happy with that I set off walking to a small cops across a field to chill out and hopefully get a woody or two for tea as I knew they would all be within 40/50 yard3 points

just watched a video of 2-3 traveller youngfellers videoing their 3 lurchers tearing into a sheep on the lamp and they roaring it on ...it makes me want to pack this hunting game in ,its all over the farming forums so you can just imagine the reception the next man that turns up with a lurcher will get..its sickening ,and one of the guilty has his name up and the town hes from ...i swear i cant understand the thrill from this and the lack of respect for the farm owners and their stock...another few years and its done for i reckon...too much shite being done all over,,3 points

Can't understand anyone crabbing man,dog or book....nowhere does he assume expert status or imply the dog was a world beater. It was nothing more than the tale of a man and his dog.Never saw the dog run or met the man ,but that's irrelevant...it is what it is...a book...to be read and enjoyed as such.Dont get why a man/dog gets pulled down ,can only assume it's jealousy....no matter what he put the miles ,time and graft into both dog and book and should be congratulated on it.By the way I'm not one of JDs superfans,I own several of his books and I've said before on here ,some of the content put3 points

the job is f****d for sure, another few years and i reckon it wont be worth the hassle ,and the morons that carry on like the video heroes will laugh and boast about their antics and wont give one shit ,...while the true honest hunting folk will be bewildered as to how it came to that ..3 points

This was the first attempt at recreating the Gafaelgi (Welsh Mastiff) He was a working Roti dog X Presa x Pit bitch. He is down in my dogs hall of fame, fantastic dog and tested fully! In fact he tested 2 good decoys fitness. Don't think they are still going? The original breeder stopped because of the amount of idiot "ard men" that contacted him and he wasn't happy to be part of that world3 points

these type dogs have a job to do same as a lurcher terrier or a farm collie and to say they are breed by nutters is far from the truth some the best breeder trainer dog men in the world are involved in these breed they have there place saved many a man woman Childs life buy putting there own life on the line for the people who feed and care for them3 points

Proper raw diet, muscle meat, tripe, offal, and some bones, not the stupidly big leg bones of cows etc, along with some veg etc, job done. It really is pretty simple. Alot of people don't listen to, or don't read up on dog's basic nutrition, and worry far too much about feeding their dogs. It aint hard lads ?3 points
