Dare we dream of the final?? Now on this side of the draw who has played better than England so far in the tournament? The way the Columbians played against England was to unsettle the young lads, loads of fouls, playing up, generally acting the twat... that's fair enough, you've got to try anything to win..but they didn't, we showed a load of character, may not have been the best game from us attacking, but it was a very solid performance. Maguire was excellent, Stones is really starting to shine, Trippier is a real surprise, he can play and defend.. Kane was excellent up front6 points

on the pure thread you said if there bred right and in the right hands, on this thread breading don't matter its the man, witch is it, with regard to katchem and blackneck I think there spot on if we breed to better the breed we will.6 points

All of my best dogs have had their fair share of spending time indoors as well as in kennels.Terriers/Lurchers/bulldogs and pp dogs.I believe the more time you can spend with your dogs the the better understanding and bond you'll have with them.6 points

Sensible attitude brother... I work on a similar principle,... I like my dogs to be adaptable,..they are part of a team and need to fit into, any given situation. Not all dogs will wear this type of Hippy lifestyle,..they just don't have the required temperament to handle loads of noise and crazy upheaval. Such sensitive animals probably feel much safer, if kenneled. In fact, if they are owned by a heavy-handed sort of man, the type of guy who cannot hold his temper, then the dogs are far better off, out of the way. I much prefer working dogs, to run free in the5 points

I could never work out why my pal kept any of that white rubbish when he had very capable black dogs from Kens breeding but for some reason he took everything Old Gouldy said as gospel.I reckon Ken could have sold him a guinea pig.4 points

I keep my dogs outside, except as pups or after a hard days work, I often shower them after a day digging and bed them down in the dining room with some warm grub, I'm sure the warmth and bit of tlc helps and speeds up recovery. Besides that they seem happy to be outside in their own kennels.3 points

Not really something you want to see from an England player but we have won nothing playing fair over the years so maybe its time to start playing like the rest of them !3 points

Last time I was out I would say over 1000 birds lifted from the yard, but then they f*** off and at best trickle back, too much food around? Or just clever? Or possibly a bit of both. But we've taken well over a thousand birds between trap/ and shooting in the last couple of weeks,so maybe there just missing there friends lol.3 points

Maybe there is a good reason that lads are using black dogs and not the other breeds.2 points

I agree, I think trying to get them out through the cave system should be the last option. Some people panic scuba diving in crystal clear waters, if fear and panic set in an hour or so into the journey out of the caves, even the most professional diver/potholer would, to say the least, struggle to get them through the ordeal. Very few people have the mental makeup for these kind of activities.2 points

It's time you stopped digging and turned to the next page in the shooting book you are reading! People buy guns and ammo to do a job, a .223 isn't a Ford Mondeo, it is excellent at what it does and also offers an additional and useful degree of flexibility. Mind you a Ford Mondeo is a lot better than some give it credit for as well. You don't get a FAC grant because you simply want something different for show or because you simply find more power entertaining, put that on your application for a FAC for Pest Control and see how far you get!2 points

That's mad! I see on that it suggests they are considering digging them out? I wonder if they could drill.2 points

A bloke I no was at his kennels in the 80s an he said it was just a puppy farm at the highest level, his main interest was peddling an making money than work, so why is a bloke like that a big name in the terrier world?? Yes he might of turned out some decent worker's but the amount he was turning out there would of been more culls than than worker's,, every time I hear his or any other big name the first thing I think is peddler an wouldn't have anything to do with them.2 points

I went to Kens in 89 to buy a black pup , he only had 3 coloured terriers there , but had two rows of kernels in a huge shed , there where bitches in all these kennels in pup or with pups , he must of been knocking out hundreds, none looked like they had seen outside the kennel never mind a earth , these pups played a big part in the makeup of the soon to be parson russell, the dog flint was his main stud, these could of had working blood in them but that was not the concern , the black pup never came to anything and that's when my interest in anything breed by gould finished2 points

You need 4 million to make change they are trying to stifle the movement. ...violence will push lesser people straight back into the hand of labour/conservative ....disarm your enemies with a smile I say let the state be the aggressor we all have camera's now show them for what they are and the movement will grow the bover boot way has never been successful they know how to play that game they have had hundreds of years of practice but they are totally clueless when it comes to modern internet based warfare people need to wake up to this and use it to there advantage.2 points

About 20 years ago I judged a well known working terrier show and a white Lakeland stood out, going over the dog I asked what type of worker the dog was the fella said he likes to mix it, anyway I picked him for overall BIS, I bumped into the fella afterwards and I said I hope that dog works as good as he looks, he smiled gave me his number and said ring him, to cut a long story short he came up to me and we dug to the dog locked on, that's the first and last white lakie I've seen find and stay.2 points

Used to be Russell's, then border lakies then fells, then cross breeds, nobody had "Patts' till the 80s, then chocs, then black cos they are the dbs. Good terriers are exactly that, no matter the breed. Cheers,. D.2 points

That is a lovely picture of the Red Beddy,..he really does look beautiful. Personally,..we always used related dogs when breeding our lurchers, mostly because it was easier to use the Boy/girl next door than to travel all over the UK... I was once a village Boy and nobody I knew had a car...and to us, the Fens, the Moors and the Dales, were as remote as another country. So, we played safe,..rarely improved on our cur dogs and were blissfully happy in our ignorance. When I could get about, I used dogs from all over, bred loads,..won a few, and definitely lost a few...?2 points
