  1. If my son phoned me at 3 in the morning to tell me he’d caught some over-sized goldfish, I’d have driven the hour to the lake and feckin drowned him in it.

  2. Since retirement I have dabbled with a bit of painting and drawing, and largely enjoyed it. Done all sorts of subjects (except hunting scenes) in watercolour, oil paint and a few graphite drawings. Last couple of years I've not been able to find the enthusiasm to restart. I have tried different styles as well, even had a go at the Bob Ross method in oils. I have sold a few and done a few commissions for people and given a fair few away. Did a watercolour doberman for my brother Done my son's dog some years back and sent it out to Aussie for him

  10. Had a phone call at 3.45 this morning from my son who,s out fishing, he has just caught his first 30lb carp at 34.12, I would normally have driven the hour to the lake to share the moment but had agreed to drop my daughter off at the bus station at 6 for a coach to London, so I got up at 4 and boned out a belly of pork stuffed it with herbs and put it in for 4 hrs low and slow, picked my daughter up at 545 and dropped her into the station for her coach, on the way out of town bit of police activity in the Avon gorge, so slowed down for a bit of a gander to see them pulling a dead body out the

  13. I know my father used set them when he was young, He would be about 90 if he was still around. I think there were two sizes for rabbits and a smaller one for rats. I found some on a farm tip when I was a young I cleaned them up with a wire brush polished the little brass triggers painted them matt black and sold them to an dealer. I kept a couple of the small rat ones and set them down the bottom of the garden as a neighbour kept budgies and the rat used to run the fence line, about 2 o'clock in the morning I got hoofed out of bed and a slap around the back of my head " you've got a gin set

  14. Hey Guy’s was out again yesterday with Jonesy, Kass, Zip, a box of ferrets , a longnet and some purse nets, we headed out to Dave’s sheep paddock to do a fence line, I haven’t done for awhile. We had a great day out in the field, the scenery was fantastic, managed to get a few rabbits, caught up with Dave and his neighbour Sherel ( yep that’s how she spells it) got a new permission that has been on my radar, so all in all a very good day Hope you enjoy the video. Take care guys.

Can't be assed reading all the thread ,but I watched Colin bell quite a lot ,a great player imho ,comparable with lots of more famous ,higher profile players. ,didn't get the credit he deserved because he played before all the stats and blanket coverage started also be played for a joke of a club ,but a proper class thoroughbred of a player .

  23. Buzzards and Hawks were really on the hunt tonight. Can`t be sure of the bird but I watched what I thought was a buzzard, close it`s wings, like a Peregrine Falcon, high up and dive at speed after something.( birds of prey lads advise please ? ) The pigeons were on high alert, to say the least tonight. I also watched a buzzard, try several times this evening, to gently coast into roosting birds as though he was just another pigeon, to see the trees " Explode" with a mass exodus of wood pigeons, realising in the last split second, t

  26. I’m glad for him to be honest, listening to some Arsenal fans of late has been both understandable and sickening in equal measure. If Sir Alex is the greatest manager and motivator that English football has ever seen (and he is) then Arsene is the greatest coach and conisiure of the game that English football has ever seen. His Invincible team showed everyone in the world exactly how the game should be played.......they should show every school boy in the world that teams unbeaten season if they want to learn the game. Sir Alex and Arsene have given England simply the best footb

  29. Buy an FAC Rapid they are considerably cheaper than a sub 12 gun and less hassle as less paperwork. For FAC you want a late mk2 gun with a reg as standard so higher shot count and a mk4 trigger unit also as well as better porting more suited for FAC.Another bonus with the Rapid platform is that they have a massive following and standard and uprated parts are easily available, also there are new designs being developed and new parts being made all the time for them . Like already mentioned some of these Rapids are well over 20 years old and still going strong .

  32. I don't know if this exists and I can't find it on THL or if has been done before and was not popular. But the idea of this thread is for people to submit their own art, drawn or painted by the individual rather than purchased. A few days ago I saw a very nice drawing in the Lurcher section but I forgot exactly where and now cannot find it. Maybe there could be a place where our own art could be placed? Not for critique or ego, merely to share. I have know a few people who have drawn and painted yet keep it to themselves as a kind of dirty secret. Not sure why. I have always loved a

  37. I think is a dam shame really all the slagging and insults, Greyman is a believer in what he's doing and out there trying to proving it. Not just sat behind a PC collecting data. If it gets you out in the countryside doing what you what to do then good on him. Better we help him out by feeding little bits of info we might come across. I know more country men that have seen big cats than have not, unfortunately i'm one who has not seen one. Just because I haven't does not me a none believer, it would be calling loads of friend liars. I think most of know when somebody spinning a yarn, so i'll k
