  12. Got 2 of them here, my eldest grandaughter used to love them as a baby/toddler before she emigrated to Aussie, she's 15 now. Her great grandparents bought them for her, but the mother didn't want to take them because of the racist 'undertones', even after I had explained to her the origins of the 'gollywog', she even took a sharp intake of breath when I referred to a Jap as a Jap, fcuking crazy cow. I also have a small golly tattooed on my arm above my grandaughter's name, if it offends anyone... tough!

  21. There are only three certainties about this 1 The bloggers and others with a public platform will twist ,manipulate and misinterpret the few facts that are known to suit their own political\ideological viewpoint . 2 once people have reached the conclusion that suits their ideology , then discussion ,debate ,dialogue and reason are pointless ,nobody ever changes sides 3 We will never know the whole truth .

  30. Try to steer clear of anyone that tells you your dogs should be 'smashing' stuff by the time they're 10 months old. Give em plenty of time to mature and grow. All my dogs have been pets first and foremost, then workers secondly. One of my best dogs was mostly whippet with a dash of greyhound

  35. Check the demographic on some of those states......... So, points well made by Chris and Born......I can accept there is no direct correlation. Maybe it’s just a quaint practice with no tangible benefit......it would seem so. However, Chris nails my point in his last paragraph ( a point he has made better than I did)

  36. The 1st Amendment forbids the establishment of religion. The bibles were never taken out of schools because they were never in there, to begin with as it's unconstitutional. Louisiana is one of the most christian states in the union. 83% of its population identify as either catholic or one of the protestant denominations. It's had the highest murder rate in the US for 28 years running and that currently stands at 11.8 per 100,000. Tennessee which bans atheists from holding public office has the highest violent crime rate in the union at 608 per 100,000 and a homicide rate of 7.3 per 100,000. A

  37. Hi Penn, this is how I started out with lurchers about 2 years ago. I wanted a dog and, being into foraging and fishing, a mate suggested a lurcher. I liked the idea of a dog that could put food on the table now and then. I have a young family, Allotment and work as a gardener so don't have a lot of free time but do manage to fit in a bit of mooching (basically taking your dog out, early morning usually best, for a walk with a view to catching something for dinner) and lamping. You may find that you get chatting to people while walking the dog (dogs do that to people) and find someo

  41. A mate had a straight cross dingo/English bull was the best pig dog he ever owned. In western oz they use dingo/whippet/bull terriers on pigs in the thick hot dry scrub as are small, fast and can handle the heat. The dingos are immune to paralysis ticks near the coast as are the cattle dogs which have a good dose of the wild dog blood.I don't have the personality to own a dingo, would end up shot.

Pet homes, hippy communes, Laboratories, even genuine 'ferret farms',...plus a handful that I have trapped in carrot cages, Fenns, and even some lost souls, found when out rabbiting...They all worked, to a degree and at the time, I was mighty glad of them... However,... I've also been made to look a total c*nt , in front of a paying customer, by utilizing a borrowed Hob or a brace of so-called, terrific working Jills... There is no substitute for being around, good honest, trustworthy, tried and test
