  1. An eventful week for the lads this week at #Invermark... Patterdale Terrier, Charlie, disappeared down a hole at work, during fox control and luckily had his tracking collar on so was easy to locate. 7 #Gamekeepers over 3 days, a total of 72 hours and under 12.5ft of solid rock reunited Charlie with his owner this afternoon at 4pm. A massive thank you to R K Services in Montrose for kindly loaning a rock breaker to help with the epic rescue mission, that was almost called to an end this morning. The breaker got them through the final 3ft of rock, where the lads tho

  2. We out today for the last dig of our season and had a nice handy dig to my Lizzy bitch with 2 up tight in front of her on the break through. We had a good season with 2 young dogs started and going well so high hopes for them for next season. IMO I reckon these call outs are used as an excuse by a lot of lads just to keep going a few more weeks and in reality all their doing is killing their own sport.

  13. It was nearly 19yrs ago when I moved to the village where I now, still dwell. I had two or three terriers at the time who saw plenty of work, and after a few weeks chatting (and drinking) with the local keepers down the pub, I managed to secure some permission right on my doorstep, I ended up with everything in the surrounding area, but to start with they threw me a few scraps just to see the cut of my jib so to speak. Anyhoo, I digress. The very first place I was sent a three to four acre pine wood which set next to a bit of grassland of the Same size with a big chalky pit in the middle of it

  16. f**k off!!! A genuine shock at that! Wasn’t aware of this until logging on here. Was touted as the new Roy Keane but sadly didn’t pan out for him after leaving the Celtic . I remember first seeing him against vieras arsenal in a pre season friendly , was brilliant and scored if I remember rightly. Later on that season we were struggling against Lyon and he came off the bench to score and lay one on for chris Sutton . Not long after that he went to United , probably too early in his career but United only knock once or twice for you I suppose . Leaves a young famil

  24. While I agree with some of what you said a lot of it is bollocks. Benefit scrounging happens a lot I agree but what about families that genuinely need it? People that have been in accidents and can't physically work or parents caring for disabled children? What would happen to them in your imaginary world?

  28. I think it's the same with most of the guarding/working dogs these days. Most people opt for the easier to obtain british bred stuff these days. But if you do a bit of homework and are prepared to dig a little deeper, importing or buying pups from imports etc, some of these dogs are great. Look at the state of the majority of GSD'S, as an example, bred in this country, shocking. Not saying ALL, but the majority. Same with alot of the german or continental breeds

  37. I should have been a bit clearer. What I meant was to take out the vixen while the cubs are dependent on her is not fair on the cubs. When I said the cubs have their eyes open and mobile I meant they're still in the earth and as you say cubs up tight tubes are a pain in the arse. That's what I meant. Personally I think if someone does shoot a milky vixen I think they are morally obliged to locate and dispatch the litter. It's the same with fox drives where no terriers are present. IMO it should be a rule that a terrierman should be present on all fox drives to locate wounded foxes that ha

  43. Bring back a mandatory death sentence . Even if one innocent person is hung at least the other 99 out of hundred would be right. In the mean while peadophilia should have a mandatory life sentence with a minimum of 40 years and 100 lashes a week untill the death penalty is reintroduced..
