  3. Had a morning out with a lad who was once a very popular member of this Forum , though i have a lot of once good land there is nothing on it and this season has been a total washout , out of the blue the fellah got in touch and asked me if i would like a day out , LIKE A DAY OUT!! I f***ing WELL WOULD LIKE A DAY OUT , on the way there we a a look at a field that borders the property we were going on and there was dozens of rabbits sat out and a few looked like they were bucking ,and it looked to me a Rabbiters paradise, When we started the Rabbits were reluctant to bolt and most had to be

  6. Its all swings and roundabouts, Collard doves spread from India and across Europe in the 30's and were unknown in the UK prior to the 50's now most think they were always here. Little Egrets are now common, cattle egrets, glossy Ibis and Cranes getting there and Bustards along with Spoonbills not far behind, seeing a Buzzard would have been a real red letter day as a kid and now hardly noted. Mind the pelican was a bit of a turn up.

  7. Oh bore off peter man no one especially cares some on here know him, some don’t most do not f***ing care ! But the fact that he isn’t here to defend himself is repugnant in my eyes! I doubt he’ll be back on here or us even bothered by what’s being said I think your naming is disgusting, you seem a relatively new poster yo this game, you won’t remember when an old site was pulled open and people had their names and addresses splashed in the public domain shocking behaviour from a hunter, for one , I hope no one ever invites you for a day out digging

I have just been given permission on a thousand acres of mixed land and would have loved my pure Deerhound to have worked it, I would not have another pure bred Deerhound as i could not be sure it is not affected by the many problems they seem to suffer from which i believe to be down to the show brigade, they really do need to outcross before it,s too late. i have to say though he had tremendous prey drive and at 33" tts could fairly mo

  13. I thought England always had a few Spoonbills ? A few years ago there was a Barred Kingfisher seen on the Irish west coast that must have been blown from North America on the gulf stream (it's not that uncommon for American species to be around Ireland's west coast) and it was in the national papers. Myself and the wife stayed in Mayo for a few days shortly after and I got talking to a local in a pub one night and the conversation was about shooting and wildlife etc. and he mentioned the American kingfisher. He told me that there was over 100 bird watchers with their cameras , binocu

  17. Google "Agrilaser", I use the hand held one for scaring gulls from nest sites in the summer, have also used it to flush feral pigeons from inside warehouses, was very dubious about spending out on it to start with but it works a treat on gulls and pigeons, with the gulls they have a vested interest in the nest sites and are soon back but I can't see why starlings shouldn't be properly scared as they would just be feeding. I'm not too far from you if you wanted to try it, give me a shout.

  20. These shows have a similar format. They humiliate the contestants. Just once, instead of the contestants squirming and begging to be kept on, I'd like one, just one; to say "stick your f***ing job up your arse Sugar. Who the f**k do you think you are, you clown?" "Or what do you know about cooking baldie? You were driving a taxi not long ago, stick the competition, I'm off". Be a lot better viewing than all this cringing and thanking the judges for the opportunity. Or maybe it's just me.

  25. All the different religions are just the most popular accepted cults across the World, and all religions are just rackets. Been a bad man all your life ? Then leave all your earthly possessions to the Church and wash away your sins lol yeah right !! As for "Protector of Paedophiles" the whole establishment from top to bottom for 1000s of years has always been ran the same. I could well believe the "Lost Scrolls" that said not to worship God etc were handily misplaced/there excistance denied .Also another reason why all the findings that archaeologists, scientists etc find is ignored is because i

We had the works Christmas meal a few nights ago - that lot got me some shooting stuff .......... A metal pellet catcher and a load of 14cm targets, a game cook book and a Nerf gun Si, you're a lucky fecker with that HW35 mate ....... Nice one Jimmy

  32. Hi pal. You won't get the same option with a pcp unless any of the lads here knows of one but once the pellet is loaded into the breech, it's only going in one direction. Obviously you can apply the safety and being a pcp, you can keep it cocked with the safety on for many times longer than a Springer due to its design. The other option is to load at the last second before squeezing the trigger as most pcp air rifles are pretty silent when loading. Your other option if you don't want to carry it around with a pellet in the breech while looking for another shot is to empty

The laid back terriermen is as much a joy to be around as the dog in the ground .Parted company with many scrabble asses for that reason .Even hunt days don' deserve a rushed affair .Dug to many types over the years but priorities have changed as I got older .I no longer look on the hard type as being the only dog worth keeping as I once did .Nowadays its more about finese and no vet bills .Blacks are my chosen type .

  39. What happened to the Lakeland worker was nothing but a disgrace and sadly some of the idiots who caused it's demise as a worker were the same men who get all the credit for turning it into a worker. They couldn't refuse the almighty £££££££££££££ and shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as hunting men. Back in the day when there were plenty of good working Jack Russells I always though of them as the thinking mans terrier. The man who needed a terrier for badgers, and then some for fox and then ones that could be used for stopping and bolting or called out if digging was out of the q

  40. IMO most sensible thinking terrier men will use a type that suits their country and style of digging. Quarry is a big factor too. So for that reason IMO it's not an accident that the black terriers followed by the Jack Russells are the most common types worked. Years ago I always found that the all round terrier man used a Jack Russell and the man who liked to spend all day at one big place used the fell types. But work wise the fell working type is nearly confined to the black ones now. Other types now and again become fashionable, ie. the borders, beddies and Cork terriers but it d
