Bit raw for me this one after the year ive just had.....having lost the most precious person in the world to me last year and hitting absolute rock bottom im only just starting to realise that in order to truly honour that person you have to carry on and live your life in a way they would have wanted you to.....we're all different i guess but expert professional help was of absolutely no use to me at all....after pushing everybody away for months ive found the familiar faces your most used to being around are the biggest experts as they know how you tick but im not expecting the actual heartbr9 points

I'm sure they would say you have your life to live so go live it but don't forget me. Thats exactly how I have coped. All the best mate. Arry9 points

Bless you for sharing that mate . What I will say is That I’ve seen things that would shred a lot of people mentally and I’ve buckled with things that others take in Their stride . There’s no rising scale of traumatic events and impact , each is individual and personalised to you . Trauma is an aspect that wears many faces , for some it’s a memory that spurs people to greater heights . For some it’s a rock that pulls them down . What I will say with my own black dog thoughts is that they dogged me for a long time , it was constantly in the back of my mind and was the last thing I th7 points

Grief is very strange. I witnessed losing both my grandparents and two of my best mates back in 2019 and at the time I handled things very well considering. But, in 2022 I started suffering from anxiety & crippling panic attacks that affected me massively. I never really let on to anyone what I was going through but I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Now I'm self diagnosing here but after searching for a trigger, I have read that traumatic experiences can rear their ugly head further down the line. It got to a point where I nearly had to quit work, I did a couple of weeks of CBT, not th5 points

It was Indie and Carson that went back to Wee Bob and Indian Joe. The stud dog Pepsi, Twister, Shorty, are meant to be a saluki dog to a whip grey type bitch, like said.4 points

Your brother is just better at hiding it mush. He's hurting just as much as you are. My own bitter experience, is that the pain never leaves you. You just learn how to hide it. Sometimes your hiding it from the world , and sometimes you're hiding it from yourself. It does you good to take a look at it from time to time , and just have a cry , and let the pressure out. You aren't on your own mush , lots of lads on here will know exactly how you feel , and what you're going through. Not many people get through life without a few deep scars mate.3 points

We're hoping to do Barbados this year.My missus has been over 20 times since the first time she went at 16 as she has a lot of aunties a cousins out there. Her mums sister made a lot of money on a house she bought in Peckham back in the 70s and when she sold it just over 10 years ago made enough to buy a smaller place in Bromley and build a gaff on family land back in Barbados.Everyone says its very expensive out there but she said not if we go where te locals go.Buy our food off the old lady who cooks it in her kitchen and sells it out of her window in cartons and it will be much better than t3 points

On a weekend away with the wife at our favourite place, Watergate Bay, turned up yesterday and there's a load of people on the cliffs with binoculars looking out to sea..get talking to a girl in the hotel with binos looking out of the window.. turns out there's a humpback making pretty much daily appearances in the bay... I said in another thread how the seas around here are changing, loads of tuna, dolphins, different sharks, turtles (occasionally), and now humpbacks...my obsession for the weekend is spotting it!! Anyone I know of who liked it stayed on a resort the whole time.I honestly can't see the point in going somewhere and not taking in the sights. My missus said even at 16/17 she would go out of an evening on her own in Barbados and locals would chat with her and make sure they ordered her a taxi .Said she's never once felt unsafe there.Apparently the rest of the carribean calls Barbados little England2 points

your doing yourself no favours ,making vids of coursing ,pal thought you were wise enough to keep it to yourself2 points

I think most people who don’t know the difference between ped and non- ped whippets in terms of speed ! When I was handicapping we had peds getting 21 yards, (the limit), start from non-peds and couldn’t win a heat over 150 yards. This is why most clubs now have separate handicaps for peds. Don’t get me wrong, I love and have had both types. The non-peds are incredibly faster but if I was going to use a whippet for coursing or lamping rabbits, I’d say the ped has more stamina and doesn’t “blow up” as quickly, but that, of course, is just my opinion. Anyway, respect to mC for adm2 points

Back to finish the pig pen today, arrived at 8 to be greeted by the owner, ranting that’s it’s not as big as he wanted, so nine hours later it’s twice the size and I had to make two gates to go in as well, he did come and apologise when we finished, giving us a bottle of wine each and offered us a 3.5 of his finest ( he didn’t strike me as a Mr Nice kind of chap )2 points

Was some job getting that. Went down early so no one around and started cutting it of with chainsaw blubber and shit everywhere. Was half way through when a load of lasses came by on horseback exercising the horses. I just said morning as if it was perfectly normal and carried on. They gave me some looks.2 points
