A few pics of mine. Drainage at the front of the runs and sleep box at the back. Rubber floor with a few blankets and what not and heat lamp for good measure when it drops to a few degrees13 points

One thing I really recommend to anyone is a roof over the runs. Amazing the difference it’s makes. Not hard do either. I roofed this myself over the summer on my own and sheeted few weeks after when I gathered the money. Hardest part about it was not getting blown away carrying the sheets and lifting them up on my own lol. Still need to get facets and down pipes put up.10 points

My kennel is a small humble set up I didn’t have a lot of disposable cash I bought the galvanise kennel for £150 about 12yrs ago it’s wasn’t all that old I had it off a family member that cut down on dogs. the slabs were 50p and £1 each they were off a fb sale group the shed was cheap can’t remember where that came from but know I didn’t pay a lot for it it was like new It’s kingspanded insulated that was free of a site agent I know that looked after me because I look after him all the drainage an fittings were free of my mate who’s a groundworker who’s also in the dog game that we sort each4 points

Nobody up here shoots them tho, few boys out with guns and hounds, cause can’t get the lurchers, each to their own. But a lot of hunting boys don’t go out and smash them, only ruining their sport, also as fellas who run cubs, then come December complain, there’s nothing about or what is about is lamp shy, nothing is given a chance, A good example, we where out with a few boys couple of years back, showed them an earth, every year We would take a couple of foxes out of it, that day we took a pair! we went to go up a few months later, farmer stopped it all, he said they where at it 4 times4 points

I think plenty of chaps of my/our generation will be quite pleased that the big team when we was all young are back on top......i always said id love to of been a Liverpool fan but you cant just choose who you support it dont work like that so being that West Ham might not win the league this year theres no club id rather win it than Liverpool....bit of a soft spot i suppose.4 points

You and the likes are bad news for everyone who’s into hunting. Bitter. I’ve never understood why a hunting lad can feel so pissed by others out hunting with their dogs, they usually want everything to themselves. Fact is the population is down like you say. a rifle man can take a lot of foxes, one man with one gun, which is very common place. Now a fox pack can take good numbers up to 100 a season but there’s not many fox packs doing the job and doing it well, so there’s no comparison when it comes to who’s causing the damage to the population. The cover lads have been at that craic for many4 points

Because he came on here to defend the unsportsmanlike and wanton slaughter of foxes, using nv and thermal vision. Using lurcher and terrier gives a more sporting chance to the fox, and you have the choice to let some live another day if you do wish to. Atb j4 points

Lift up lid on some hinges on the sleep box so easy enough to clean out if needed but I don’t bother as I don’t use straw. Atb Igz4 points

Saying there will be breeding stock where these lads can't reach is foolish. There is nowhere they can't reach now. They drive for hours in country they know nobody, never have to put a lamp on and shoot anything they see. All thermal spotters and night vision scopes. If there's anywhere they can't see into, they turn on their call boxes that have every call possible from squealing rabbit to vixen in heat. The latest trend is to set up feeding stations and just sit and wait for the foxes to roll in for an handy dinner. With prey numbers down it's an easy gig. There's a few who have genuine rea4 points

There's a seriously noticeable decline in the numbers over the last few years up North since the rifle technology has hit the market at working man's prices. Lads on a lamping foxes FB page at Christmas crying about only getting a couple for the month of December when he had 30 last year and 80 the year before. The same lad that posted pictures of milky vixens and cubs shot at the mouth of the den. What hope is there? Another lad on from down Dublin way that shot over 100 in December alone! Where's the sport in plugging an animal from 200 yrds away that hasn't a notion you're there because of4 points

Interesting isn't it how these governments work. If they [the govt's] want to see how tightening gun legislation works look no farther than another commonwealth country. Ie here!!! We have some of the most restrictive gun legislation in the world. Gun control has stopped absolutely nothing, the country is swamped with illegal firearms with the crims openly admitting to what they on prime time Tv to good old liberal Grant Mitchell. Laws stop nothing cos the crims ignore them simples......3 points

It's toatly nuts, especially with the amount of revenue hunting brings into the country. Gun crime will still be be there, with more illegal guns on the streets. As for the doctors they got good lawyers and insurance. Lefties and snowflakes are taking over the world. Atb j3 points

I go out with a small cover pack of hounds lurchers and terriers and we might kill 40 a season and that’s covering a hell of a lot of ground, road siders are killing that many in a few nights so absolutely no comparison.3 points

Hit or miss with rifle... That's laughable. My whole point was, that is not the case with modern technology available. Even with only a lamp and a retard behind the trigger, you've another few rounds in the magazine and a couple of hundred meters to follow up. That chap that took 501 evidenced every single fox so gave no reason not to believe it. I wouldn't have posted it otherwise. Sitting round cover with shotguns on every viable exit is as bad as rifling them in my opinion. There's a 50/50 chance with a lurcher and if the terriers are as shite as your saying, sure the fox will never be dug.3 points

Was out with my young one this morning just me and him just looking at a spot I’ve looked at and thought I need to have a mooch about over there. Ground was like concrete, but was happy as I seen a few things about, promising signs so back with the lamp once the ground softens3 points

You got a rifle any chance? Takes a bit of effort and some skill killing a lot of daytime foxes with dogs. My nan could rifle them with thermal and night vision.3 points

I have limited Experiance of owning bull x’s having owned a total of one, but have been around quite a few, including Lurchers with more bull than running dog. My observation has been that for the most part if socialised well, And trained well, they are pretty well mannered, very laid back and generally easy to be around. However what I have noticed is that if another dog does push their switch, there’s no dancing about, it’s game on. The only fight my two Lurchers have ever had was over a bowl of food I’d forgotten id left in the garden when I let them out one night. Old dog w2 points

Tresspass is a civil matter so unless the landowner wants to follow through with prosecutions the police can’t do much where as if you Trespass with a gun it’s technically armed tresspass and no longer a civil matter and the Gards can intervene. That’s as far as I know. But doesn’t matter cause they don’t own a pair of boots don’t mind walk the land the shoot from the road.2 points

I've only seen(walked out with) two black males off that line... Both were incredibly wired,..they caught rabbits that I doubted could be taken,...in truth, it was frightening to watch? Personally, I could not live with such intensity from a rabbiting dog,..but I can see why some folks, find them entertaining. My own, home-bred cur bitch, has a wee bit of the aforementioned blood in her breeding,..albeit, watered down somewhat... She is still, plenty hot enough for me though...? http://www.chalkwarren.co.uk/2 points
