Glenn Waters Breakaway Snare
Many of you on here will know Snareman and will know of his many years of experience. Recently he put a few posts up about a breakaway snare he'd invented that is simple, cheap and highly effective. Use of this breakway eye would mean if a larger, not target species were caught be accident, the loop would fail and the animal would be released.
You can make these for pennies, they don't rust and work on hard or soft wire.
I understand that he's been in talks with various officials in goverment and the police about his design and there seems to be some acceptance that these breakaways are the way forward.
I PM'd Snareman and he very kindly sent me a couple of examples and some hand written instructions on how to make these new eyes. I've reproduced his instructions in electronic format and Snareman has asked me to post them on here for everyone's benefit. GW is very much the sharing type and want to give you guys the opportunity to make them yourselves not pay through the nose for them.
