Is he constantly hitting her? Or just keeping her in check? Are the ideally matched? I usually have an older pullet with a young Stag so that he gain respect for her.
hitting her on the top of the head ,then she will kick him and all hell will brake lose!! :(

keep them apart mate then let him tread her and put him back on his own

I agree, sounds pretty extreme. The Stag sounds game!
