Bull X pup needs a genuine home.

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Firstly, I'm the unhappiest man in the world posting on here with a dog for sale, I'm gutted to have to do it, I have never in my life sold a dog before and I bought this one only yesterday with the full intention of keeping him until his last day.

Meet "Spike":

Spike is 4 and a half months old, near enough half cross, and is through no fault of his own looking for a new home.

I bought him yesterday at Papplewick show, off a genuine bloke who was there with his wife and 3 young children, I would never have considered buying a dog from a show, ever.

But ................ I saw this dog interact with 3 young children, his owner, and countless other people and their dogs within 20 feet of me for about 6 hours yesterday and simply had to have him!

He is a pleasure to be around, gentle with children, calm with other dogs, he was in the car for about 4 hours with me on the drive home (M6 was like a car park :censored: ) and didn't whinge or pester me once, he just sat with looking at me, am absolutely gutted not to be able to keep him.

Reason I can't keep him is my 4 year old Stafford has decided he wants to kill him, I know 12 hours isn't a long time and things might change, but my partner will not listen, not no way, no how.

Had a terrible night with my Stafford trying to get to him, Partners daughter crying because her best friend (Stafford) was upset and she'd also never seen him like this, my Partner has said absolutely no way can we keep Spike, not inside, not outside, not for a "few days to see if things change", not at all.

I've no experience of keeping more than 1 dog at a time, and even if I did, it would be foolish and simply stupid of me to even try with the way my Stafford is, even if I was here 24/7 with them, one day that Stafford will find a way to get to the pup, and there is no way that if she's not 100% on my side that I think my partner would be up to keeping them apart or seperating them if he did get hold of the pup.

I only bought him after some lads with more knowledge of dogs than me said he was a good one, in excellent health, fantastic coat etc, he really is a credit to the lad who had him.

I'm the saddest man in the world writing this, but really do have no choice, if there was ever a genuine thread on here this is it.

Spike is not free to a good home, I paid for him, and think that by putting a price on him will hopefully keep away the messers.

Spike is £200, BUT that is very negotiable, but if you haven't got £200 in your pocket when you come to see him then you won't see him, sorry but that's that.

Before anyone gets to come to my home (not the address I give out for posting money for collars!) then they will be able to give me a name of at least 1 person that I know personally.

I live near the Cheshire/Wirral border, and am available most of the day or evenings.

My mobile number is 07738 930466

Please don't waste anyones time, this lad needs a good home quickly.

I'm sitting here thinking I should shoot my Stafford and keep Spike.

Gutted.

Note that the mark on his head in the 2nd pic is where the Stafford got hold of his head, the skin is not broken but the hair was pulled out, should grow back.

Gutted for you Aaron :(

Fellas I was with Aaron yesterday when he got this pup. Its in excellent health and very well socialised, as Aaron says it was interacting with people of all ages and other dogs calmly and confidently.

Should make someone a cracking dog.

P.S. Sorry Aaron

You need to ask yourself what you want more a staffie which ar no use really unless they ar very small can go to ground or bush because there not worth it throw up a set of kennels and kennel them off iv seen dogs get on great along side each other in kennels .....And just await about a year that bull hound will want the staff :clapper:

Gutted for you mate, could see how excited you were with him,

He is going to make someone a good dog though, very strong looking beast,

and big for 4 1/2 months..

I would give it few days to see if you cant bring them together..

Hope you find him a good home, personally I think your completely in the right for doing it this way, your staff is just doing what comes naturally, he and you have shared a special bond for a long time and now an incomer has come in and threatened his patch, some staffs are like that you cannot have another dog of the same sex, or another dog at all, they just wont tolerate it. I wouldnt shoot him because of it, just call it a lesson learned and no one will think any the less of you for it

Strong stuff , i have a similar problem as you with a bull terrier . she is a half x ....ebt x sbt and can be a right pain in the arse with other dogs , i have 6 dogs in total and i have gone to the trouble of splitting my yard down the middle and building seperate pens for all the dogs ...... the point i'm getting at is this .....if you want something bad enough you will find a solution to the problems in hand ..... just my opinion ...all the best with rehoming the dog he looks real smart :victory:

I'd be happy with him Wilf, although I think my wife could give Aarons missus a run for her money in the muller your husband stakes..............

Don't mention mercy cases, we had worked a scenario out for Aaron and that didn't work........... :icon_redface:

P.S. Wilf, I'll get in touch later tonight, left messages for G but he still hasn't contacted me.

I completely take your point, this dog was going to be getting a run etc made for him, the problem is not really the 2 dogs, that can be worked around, it would be difficult but not impossible to keep them apart until maybe they develop an "understanding".

My problem is my partner! She just won't accept another dog, at all.

I know ............ shoot the Stafford, drown the bird and go and live in a caravan with Spike ..........

Forgot to mention my injuries ............. :icon_eek:

Not done by Julie, she prefers to hurt my head inside than out!

At 5 am this morning I was trying to sneak the pup out for a pee, tripped over the ledge of the patio doors and landed on my nose ............. :censored::censored::censored:

It hurts, a lot!

Been telling people that Julie did it though.

:whistling:
