saw some at the weekend and it looked good but expensive. just wondering is it quality kit?

Can you be more specific..I use the Artkis Daysack everyday in extreme climes under conditions of serious stress..No tears , only issue was when i stood on one of the plastic fastening clips..But easily replaced..Also wear their webbing, very well mad piece of kit, very hardy and stitchings are solid..

Also have used their fleeces..And insulated softie jackets..Fantastic products..Really good company ..a brand you can rely on really

I have some ARKTIS FALKLAND trousers or also known as ARKTIS 1055 WATERPROOF they are one of the best pieces of clothing i have bought keep you 100% dry and are warm the price on arktis clothing seem to have gone up a bit in last 6 months but still worth money if it is the clothing you are after FJALL RAVEN also do some decent bits try RED DEER CLOTHING its a good site for getting outdoor clothing

i was looking at the Arktis waterproof ripstop parka, just wondering if it's top waterproof gear that won't rip?

i'd be using it for shooting,digging and lamping maybe all in the one day!

so i only wan't a jacket i can soak in wet mud, then put it on damp head out again and know it won't rot to sh*t and be breathable.

are those waterproof pants breathable.

any specific clothing you guys would recommend from them? is the best place to get it direct?

ye the jacket is a matching set to the trousers i got my mate as the jacket and it is 100% waterproof and quiet as well.It is proberbly cheaper getting it direct from arktis but there was a stall at selby and the welsh game fairs and it was cheaper and even cheaper is you bought trousers and parka together and i bet it will be at the midland this year might be worth waiting if you are going.

I bought the Falkland trousers from Country Covers at the Welsh Gamefair, they are £99.76 on their webpage, but i had them for £79.99 for them at the Gamefair.

 

Dont get me wrong, they are a tidy trouser, and i'm pleased with them, but i cant see them being 100% waterproof, i've worn them out a few times already in the wet and the rain has got through them, you have got the outer layer of the rip stop material, and then a Pro-line waterproof breathable liner underneath which is like a stretchy elasticated nylon material.

 

I will test them out fully in the wet and get back to you with the results.

Well mate cant speak for anyone else but been wearing these trousers for over 12 months and they have never let me down when it comes to keeping me dry the only thing i can say is only wash them on a cold wash a warm wash can F#*k the waterproof lineing my opinion worth every penny.

Weather has'nt been too good today down here in Wales so i thought i would test these Falkland trousers out, was out for about an hour and a half walking the dogs, trousers got soaked through by the showers, and by walking through rushes & brackon,

 

 

 

 

as you can see they had a good soaking, i put on a old pair of thermals underneath to see if the were 100% waterproof as claimed, but as you can see below the water has penetrated them,

 

 

 

 

they wern't feckin sodden wet, but the moisture had got through.

 

Even though they were sodden through with rain and by walking through cover you didn't feel uncomfortable at all at any time by the moisture getting through, and i've got to say i'm well happy with them, but as for being 100% waterproof, i'ts got to be a NO, NO.

have a look in tk max at ski pants, about thirty quid. maybe wrong time of year but you never no. worth a look. thirty million ski freaks cant be wrong...

Speaking to the guy from Country Covers up at the Midland, had a chat to him about my Falkland trousers and how the water had penetrated through them, he said yes the water will come through if you walk through cover with them, or if you kneel down in them.

 

What you need if you are going to be walking through cover or kneeling down in them are kneepads sewn into the trousers, he said send them back to us and we will sew the kneepads on for you for £20, had them back this week and they sent me a brand new pair with the pads sewn in, and a fantastic job.
