Well, I decided on a 223, got the SPS tactical.

Here it is ...

Seems to shoot the crappy Wolf around an inch, but having trouble getting it zeroed with the Nikko on there. Time to invest in a new scope methinks. The Leupold rings are 30mm though, so my scope choices shrink somewhat...

2 rabbits with it thus far, doubtless more to come. Weight is fine though perhaps a bit heavier than I'd have liked in an ideal world.

my "self pimped" boar rifle:

it used to be an old guardia civil FR8 mauser, I added a butler creek stock, weaver base and a burris fastfire red-dot sight.

shoots quite well for an old military rifle with a red dot as you can see on the cardboard thingy behind the rifle (4shots on 100meters)

and while I'm at it, not a rifle though, my crowbuster:

Here's my little CZ American in 22LR. It has a cheap but effective Hawke Nite-Eye 3.5-10x50 scope, Harris 9-13" swivel, SAK mod and Allen sling. It also benifits from a Brooke's trigger kit.

here is my little rifle. it's a .22lr CZ silhouette with a 16" barrel, a sak mod and a harris bipod.

it's got a cheap and cheerful hawke sport-hd 3-9x40 scope with a MAP6 reticle. it only cost £50 and it does everything i could ask of it out to about 153yrs (my personal best rabbit shot).

there is a software program that tells you what aim points to use at what distances under different magnifacations for the reticle and it actually works spot on.

my set-up may not be much but it gets the job done and i love it. :gunsmilie:
