Just came accross your post. I have new aquired a .17 Mach2. I have to say what a bit of kit, My mates HMR has about 30mtrs on the range of mine but what i like is the fact that the Mach 2 is not so noisy and the ammo is less than half price compaired to the HMR. Still dropping Rabbits at 160mtrs no problem.

Guns is like handbags - you need at least one for every occasion !

(Not that I own any handbags - it's just what my wife tells me . . . and NO ! they don't call me Mandy at the weekends !! ;-)

FAC Air, .22LR, .22K-Hornet, .222, .22-250, .243, .270, .308, .30-06, .300WinMag, 9.3x62mm

All BSA's except for the .22LR which is a Sako Finnfire Varmint, and the K-Hornet which is an old BRNO what has been tweeked.

And all used regularly for professional 'Pest Control'.

I also looked at the .17 Hornet . . . nice but could not justify as no real need. Also a good marketing trick by Hornady. It has been around for years (as the .17 Ackley Hornet in the 1950's - 20gn doing 3500fps. 545ft-lbs) yet is being spouted as a 'new cartridge'. It would make more sense than a .17HMR (17gn doing 2500fps. 245ft-lbs) though, and probably cheaper to roll your own if you shot it a lot.

Regards
