Celebraties who support field sports

Recommended Posts

now country side rocks thingy ,how many knew that was on ?? pity we could not approach the celebs and get somethinmg like that organised eh but it would never happen

It was a CA organised event so every single CA member *should* have known about it. I certainly got emails and leaflets about it quite a way in advance.

I agree though, it should be made more accessable for more regular wallet. That was certainly one of the things that put me off. BUT having said that, some of us think nothing of spending our money on tickets to football, rugby or gigs etc although I think it was still a little higher priced than i've ever paid to go to Twickenham.

Twickers???? Bloody heel, Countryside Rocks cost a whole lot more!! I cant remember the ticket price now, but by the time we'd got down there and put a decent picnic together I had spend £hundreds not £tens!!!!

Countryside Rocks was really geared towards the Countryside Alliance membership alone and not field sports fans across the board; and indead the more afable CA members at that! It would be great if an event could be put together like Countryside Rocks, maybe with a few younger artists too, with a more reasonable ticket price and more general publicity too.....I'll bloody well organise it if it helps to the job!!!!!

Micheal Jennings the boxer goes out lamping with a few local lads. He came jogging past us while we were hunting last month and asked if we wanted anymore beaters! By the time we realised it was him he had jogged on. :boxing:

havent had time to read all the posts so sorry if someone already mentioned them, but jennifer Saunders and Adrian Edmonds are pro fieldsports. They hunt too. Also Jeremy Irons (had a kiss from him once  ) and of course Ron Bendle is a no. 1 supporter. :drink:

If I remember rightly they were about £75 or so.

Think you are right there. Plus a picnic and bits, for a few of us it worked out quite expensive. Worth the money on my part but I can wholy understand that the majority of "hunters" would not want to be spending that sort of money; for a family or a group it makes it very expensive!!

I think thats where a lot of the bigger organisations are going wrong, trying to cater for and get money out of the "country set" those who read The Field as oposed to Countrymans Weekly (don't shoot me down, I'm generalising just as an example). No wonder the antis think we are all toffs. Sure there is plenty of money at the higher end of the sports but there are much bigger numbers and just as much passion and drive amongst the normal country sports fans. If this were tapped into, as well as the target audiance of BASC, CLA and the CA then we would have a much much louder voice.....

How many of these people stick out their necks and promote countrysports?

I reckon they're the ones that deserve the recognition.

It's one thing to like countrysports but another to actually go out and encourage others to follow.

Roger Daltrey gets my vote as does Johnny Scott.
