crow wing...i think ive seen some of the polecat type that you describe and they certainly look nice animals. i have a polecat with a dark ginger undercoat but his coat in general is no darker than normal.

Yeah the pal who traps one every couple of years does so in Wales with the help of a keeper pal and he then releases the polecat after the job is done..like you mate I must have reliably tame ferrets..thats the only way they should be..and I will stick with domesticated stuff..

Cheers mate..did you ever meet a farmer down there name Keith Newlove..he was at Bugthorpe when I knew him..had a cracking line of jack russell terriers..nice narrow chested leggy type..his father in law was a man named Oliver Gill and I think they had the lines between them...had some great days out with them..we had one or two of these russells off him in the 1970s..real nice bloke to..proper sporting countryman..

ye maybe crow wing ,i am well versed at the fishing game hunting game , or as a yank says to me your a harvester of game sounds better than poaching fecher, had the dogs since i was ten year old same with ferrets , my family ran greyhounds had some of the great spectre monalee champion in there bloodlines had a terreir as a smal boy and he taught me more than any body else then by the time i was old enough my freinds dad was a miner we started ferreting with him then i started coursing the greyhounds and were we stayed was polluted with hares at one time , and then nets for fish and the story goes on, then the miners strike when i was in my early teens, then it was seruois the poaching hunting as money was short for some of my freinds so we went hard at it ,all the best ,back then we got 5 pound a brace for pheasants 1.50 a pound for roe .and 75p a rabbit and 3.50 a hare , it kindy moulded me as what line i was going down lucky i have a god biz brain and a good trade which i always used when i needed big moneyand always will all the best

The miners strike 1984 / 1985 was something I was involved in..also 1972 and 1974..sadly we lost the big one and Thatcherism prevailed..but during the year we were out I was into a few things..we certainly never went hungry..while I have used nets in the river I always preferred a gaff..lamping the pools where the fish were queuing up to jump..not very sporting but very productive..

all the best
