Stainless steel putange

Do any of you use or know if stainless steel Putange mole traps are available anywhere ?

Cheapest I’ve seen is about £20 a pair

a French putange will last decades as it is and if you feel like it you can galvanise them at home apparently easily enought

 at£1 each it seems unnecessary to pay so much for pure stainless

a member from the north east bought some stainless of nice pics and i think he paid about £60 for 10 but i could be wrong.

 

you could try the putange website but he put the prices up once he took over from norfolk trapper. hes  greedy so they wont be cheap if he can get them

you might be able to contact nicepix through youtube

His prices are fine

given the pound has tanked since brexit I think that accounts for the difference in price 

and he always has stock in so you don’t have to wait two weeks for a delivery

which doesn’t take away from the fact he’s running a good business well  and for you to say he’s greedy  is pretty petty

Most steel traps, .especialy good traps,..can never be cheap,...I've lived through decades of folk whinging about someone else, having an earner...

I’ve been getting Putange from Paul Stanford with no complaints on price and with fast delivery which I couldn’t say about the previous supplier. Unfortunately Paul doesn’t sell the stainless steel version

Dakota trap dip Hawkeye. Fourteen acre sell it. Won't stick well to new traps but coats well on weathered ones.

I just give mine a light tickle with wire brush.

It can be annoying when the triggers 'fuse'_in place due to corrosion, but avoiding that seems to be mostly about taking great care as to how you set them to begin with.

Same here a little scrub with a small wire brush before setting keeps them from sticking,IMO the triggers work better with some corrosion on surface,  I use a small spark plug brush.

I use a bronze bristle. Nothing too aggressive. Just to smooth the patina
