Just an up date mate on the rifle

stripped the bluing back

just ready for polishing

then the bluing can go on

stripped the lacquer off the stock now as well

few deep marks on the stock so she will need a full sand down

and a repair to the split in the pistol grip

Well another one put to bed lads made a brace for it and should last Mark until he finds a new stock for her it a shame really as it has some nice grain in it and it shoots good as well

Right Mark iv had to pin the stock in three places as you will see in the pics there was no where to pin it from the inside due to the angle of the split it was ether this way or a new stock

Right Mark iv had to pin the stock in three places

as you will see in the pics there was no where to pin it from the inside due to the angle of the split

it was ether this way or a new stock

any way its nice and strong now

but not sure i can make the split invisible but ill give it a go

if it was not for the stock having some nice grain in it i would of told you to buy another stock for it

Just done the bluing Mark

its ok but im not happy with it so i may do it again mate

and the pitting on the chamber was bad but iv managed to knock it back a little

It may be a case of primer and paint mate to hide it all .

its your call Mark

Right Mark iv done it again mate

its a hell of a lot better now but the pitting is bad mate some are deep and if i take them down any further it may put a hole in the chamber ,

rendering it useless so its up to you mate do i leave it as is or paint it ?

remember lads this is an old rifle
