Dogs eye

surely if the lens has moved position in the eye the dog in effect is blind in that eye because it wont be able to focus or see anything other than its light or dark.  if the lens stays there then surely the only way to re-position it must mean some sort of eye surgery/ operation with all of the risk of complication.  lets hope for the best.  I had a dog that had a small scratch on the cornea and in the end the poor dog lost sight in that eye.  I thought that it was the end of the world but the dog carried on with one sighted eye and it didn't seem to affect its hunting and retrieving ability and it lived a long normal hunting life .  Lets hope that the situation gets better.

Vet said he can still see through it but it will affect his vision , he said there are two difrent  types where the  lenses moves in front of the pupil or behind it , he said if it was in front then it would have to be operated on and removed but as it's behind it could stay that way forever and be fine , aslong as it's not hereditary, as if it's hereditary then then it will come away completely and he will have to have his eye removed , and it will most certainly happen to the other eye aswell  , he has got go back Monday to see if there is any change i.e. Swelling /pressure/inflammation

Just to add once you get a diagnosis  I'd start looking for  specialized animal eye surgeons perhaps there's a chance of repair if its just a slipped lense

Yea the wife has started looking on google mate , thing is some places will be funny about treating him because of what he is

Had him vets today they said his lenses in his eye has moved it could be due to a nock or worse it could be hereditary lens luxation which he we eventually go blind in both eyes , he's got go back in acouole of days to see if it has got worse , it could be that it has been nicked out of place and that it could stay that way rest of his life and be fine,,

hes a terrier

Good luck hope all goes well.

At least it isn't what mine had.

I Can't see that. They are dedicated professionals and work for the benefit of all animals. Why would you think otherwise. What sort of terrier is he?
