Losing a worker

Recommended Posts

Bad day all round yesterday.. ferreting some new ground and everything that could go wrong did.. missed a bolt hole on 1st Warren and it cost us 2 rabbits.. the same story at the next couple we went to, and we was heading back to the motor with just a few rabbits when on another day we’d have been in double figures..

as if things couldn’t get any worse the lurcher ran one to ground on our way back and the resulting dig ended in us losing our best Jill ... absolutely gutted me and my son who’s really took to the ferreting this winter and the loss has hit him hard... if anyone has a Jill not getting out much or surplus drop me a pm please good working home here thanks sesku 9EB8A854-BB59-4B67-AC79-91F0D0DA3813.thumb.jpeg.2d1db0df2a5cd32ee5d9572ef7acb0ba.jpeg

Have you had a good sweep of the whole area with the locator?

It's amazing how quickly their little legs can carry them if they are motivated enough.

As said, get back with a box and some of the bedding from the hutch, stick a bit of fresh meat down for her as well.

That's shit mate, I feel for you.

I had 3 dead in the hutch in the space of a fortnight just before the start of the season. One young hob (that I was intending to work and then breed off this summer) my best working Jill and one of my original Jill's who worked like a hob (direct sister to my vas hob) and it was an absolute sod because all my plans for next season were stuffed.

That pretty much sums up my situation mate.. was going to breed her and keep a couple Jill’s back for ourselves.. ah well I’ll just keep looking .. a lad on here messaged me with an offer of a Jill but it’s a 6-7 hour round trip
