Piledrivers.

Recommended Posts

I got given some H & N Piledriver pellets today. They're in .22 weigh 30gr and feel like a big old lump. I just had a look at some vids on Youtube about them. One of the videos shows there's loads of swarf in the tin and a lot of the pellets were damaged. When I looked at the ones I had been given there was a small amount of loose swarf in the tin but all the pellets looked fine, couldn't find one that I would call badly damaged. Going to try them next week end if I get the time. Any one here used them?.

Tried them this afternoon. Only fired 3 and they were well heavy. My rifles 19ftlbs and they were shooting 1/2'' low at 20 yards. 2 went to the left and 1 to the right of the cross hairs. These things have ribs running nose to tail so they seal without too much contact with the barrel to avoid drag (see the posted video at the top) When I pushed the bolt to load I had to give it a hell of a push to get the pellet out the magazine and in the barrel. Because it's so tight there must be extra pressure build up behind the pellet before it actually starts to move. They are suppose to be for 32ftlbs min but I thought I would give them a try as they were freebees.
