Any info of population size in the UK,  and how far they've spread?

Well they are in Scotland,Devon and Gloucestershire, that I know of so that's top middle and bottom of the country  as to numbers not sure heard there were 6 let loose on the Cotswolds, and a few of the early ones in Scotland were shot by people that never wanted them back, the ones in Devon are pretty well established so possibly less than 50 over all, but as they are rodents that might be all they need to get started ??

what do you think the raccoon population is

I read this last year about uk raccoon numbers,it shouldn't be set in stone as how does anyone begin to do an accurate head count.......

Some escaped from zoos and multiplied.

The last check was apparently 2011 and there were around 1,000 wild racoons - mostly around Scotland.

They could be up 2,000 now I guess. No-one knows.

ah raccoons

now they get quite pissy.

i have only shot one and the other, well was at work.

i worked at a grain elevator plant and we had contractors in to do some mechanical work and they refised

to go up a stairway cause there was a 'coon sitting there.

off i went with a shovel and beat it one across the head.done.lol

another time a co worker had to call his mate in with a rifle to shoot one as he couldnt get access to a part of the plant

cause a 'coon was pissy on a stairway.

damn things
