Exactly. If a country has talent it will be bullied and heckled. Smaller countries with less to offer will be supported and made to look like their stronger ie ireland.

Thinkit's called Geosocialism. All a theatre production.

Don't see the Americans,Chinese,Japanese or Russians getting bullied maybe it's an overinflated assumption of talent or power.

I genuinely think it’s more simple than that mate, almost to a man none of them want to leave this massive and very lucrative club for people just like themselves and they have found the way to f**k o

All this could have been avoided, if the EU had had the brains to throw that prick Cameron a bone when he was asking for a different deal for the UK, there never would have been a referendum. The

I had a conversation in the week with a bloke I do business with. He phones up sounding like he is going to be shot at dawn and tells me that another associate has taken over a dealership so now

I didn't vote but in my defence I had a lot going on with over 20 hours of surgery... Wilfs post sums it up right... The illusion has been shattered

Fair play as excuses go that's a good one! I'll let you off ;)

It's just a shame so many folk only realised how terrible FPTP is when it was too late. Like I said earlier AV could have been the first step towards real reform but instead the result has just been used as proof that reform isn't wanted or needed

Laid low mate.........it f***ing breaks me to see it like that.

Still, every dog has its day.......today it’s the EU dictatorship........one day, who knows?

At this moment in time, I’m pretty bitter about it and I hope that if our day comes we wreak terrible vengeance on the playground gang.........at this second in time I really wouldn’t care what that entailed.

Will that day ever come?.....probably not in my lifetime.

Terrible vengeance it's not the EU or Ireland that should be held accountable for looking after its own interests. Arlene Foster and Theresa May for bending over for her because she needed her parties support would be where I'd point the finger. If the government was overturned and there was an election then Arlenes support might not have been needed. Regardless it makes the UK look weak to the rest of the world whilst sky news are blabbering about how they have saved the day.

Calm down with the theatricals mate, they just built the biggest container port in Europe where I used to live.....it’s 650 acres.

That was investment from and Arab country.

Ireland is first stop on route from America and you have what?......2 ancient ports and zero on the west coast which is first stop.

The UK has Thames Gateway, Tilbury, Southampton, Dover, Felixstowe And 85 others.......don’t tell me what we are and what we ain’t .

Today we are f****d, that may well be the case in 5 years time too......but it won’t be forever.

Now most of that we can agree on mate, however I think if the magical day ever came when we could make them pay the price then we shouldn’t forget or leave anyone out.

Meanwhile the gay Taoiseach is sitting at home curled up on sofa with his cup of hot chocolate and novelty socks having a good old chuckle about been able to solve something that centuries of bloodshed ( terrible vengeance) couldn't . The sun will still rise in the morning and the panic will eventually disappear.

Loads of good points on here lads, really good thread.

The problem as I see it is British politicians appear to be the worst business people in the world, so they are f****d when sitting at the top table an d negotiating on behalf of all of us, and hard negotiating is the only way forward IMO.

I know a lot think we could just vote out and walk away the next day as if we were never part of the whole master state bullshit, but that was never the case...

I voted out, I run a couple of businesses and one of these involves trade into Europe and other parts of the world, it was a business gamble for me to vote out, but I honestly believed we could be a strong nation with our own identity and a big slice of pride in that. I still believe I made the right decision and I wouldn't change my vote, but by f**k they seem to be making a complete hash out of this leaving malarkey.

None of them are part of a political union/federation at all similar in magnitude and complexity as the EU. What is going on here is more like Texas/Cali succeeding the USA than simple international politics.

We've become so intertwined in Europe that they have us at a massive disadvantage at the negotiating table. I can't even think of a situation where any of the above nations have been in that had them at a similar dissadvatage. Perhaps when Japan surrendered to the US In the face of overwelming military might!
