last weeks ratting.

I decided to give the Mk3 it's first proper trip out last week, on the rats at the manor house permission - there's usually a good few around the grain silo and the chicken sheds.

First things first, I tried a couple of different pellets to see if I could use something with a bit more clout and less penetration.

....... I ended up opting for Baracuda Hunter Extremes

In total we got about 20 rats - mostly off of the frame work on the silo.

The Baracudas were cracking them hard with a lot of noise and, barely any movement after they'd been hit.

....... Most of them just fell off and landed in the ditch at the side.

I missed 1 easy rabbit that I saw in the orchard :fool:

The few rats that we saw by the chicken sheds didn't stand a chance - a couple were picked of while sticking their heads out of their holes.

All in all, I couldn't ask for this Mk3 to perform any better

........ In fact, I'll concede defeat - this zimmer frame is a cracking bit of kit.

It's so much more stable than the cheapo one that I lost

Cheers Jimmy

I think this came from the same collection that the Merlyn was in.

To be honest, it's running so well that I can't imagine parting with it - it's just those electronics that make me a little wary.

Good luck mate

I haven't tried this as a platform with the legs out yet - I kept the rubber band thingy done up and used it as a monopod.
