It's a smooth bore. I have had a rifle in the past in .45" and shot patched ball at fox and rabbits beyond 100yards.This gun is good to thirty yards with shot and with a ball beyond 50yards. It's very versatile. All these were shot with a .440" ball last spring. U. 1 Quote Link to post
