Reloading 223

Recommended Posts

Just reloaded 50 rounds of 223. I used brass someone gave me, so tumbled it, full length sized it, chamfered inside and outside the neck, trimmed to length and cleaned the primer pockets. So far so good. Hand primed them all no problem, filled them with my secret amount of N133 then took them off to the press to seat the bullets.

49 of them came out perfect but one got partially stuck in the press. When I pulled it out (it was only stuck hand tight) the shoulders had buckled. I checked the die and there was nothing wrong with it and seated the others perfectly.

Could it have been dodgy brass or something else that caused it?

You can have that one gratis mate. If you can fit it in your gun, I'll give you some more. Don't forget it's a left handed gun I made that for though.
