Been trapping this cottage garden for the last 3 years.

It's a nightmare of little paths and terraces on steep, fast draining land full of ancient rubble.

The moles here rarely make a hill, they just tear up the grass roots or swim around in the sandy borders. Hard trapping...

Except for thi little tunnel that comes up beneath a stepping stone. Its always been there and a trapline pushed down it always catches.

Still deliberating on the FAC, trappa. Funds are tight at the moment and I just bought a HW 97 with night vision which has opened up a new dimension for rats and bunnies.

The moles gave themselves away, The One. If you look at the run it exits the edge of the stepping stone at 4 oclock as you look at the circle. There was a small pile of spoil there which gave me the idea of pulling the stone out to see what was going on beneath it. The tunnel that comes up where I trap the moles is almost vertical and must lead to some long established 'highway'. It's the only place I can catch there with any certainty. If only the little beggars could talk, what a tale they would tell!
