walshie 2,804
I've got 300 for each of my centrefires. Quote Link to post
shovel leaner 7,648
I've got 300 for 223 , 150 for 243 and 250 for my 22lr. In reality I don't buy that many centerfiire bullets . I recently bought 3 boxes of 223 bullets, 20 in a box it came to £77.50 . If I bought my full limit it would cost over £400 , and then sit in a ammo safe . I tend to buy two or three boxes at a time and when I am running low go and buy a couple more , unless you are shooting at targets a lot I wouldn't worry too much about being allowed to hold a lot of ammo . 1 Quote Link to post
David.evans 5,323
Thanks lads The land I shot over is passed for .243 , and has plenty of deer on it , Would I be better doing .243 for fox and deer and forget the .223 , Atb Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
Definitely David. .243 is excellent for fox I used 75g vmax in mine and it was great. If your going for fox and deer of use some 90g/100g soft point great all round bullet. Just make sure you put deer on your variation aswel as fox and vermin 1 Quote Link to post

Deker 3,450
Ammunition allocation is down to what you can justify and what your RFD had for breakfast. I have substantially more .223 and a chunk more .243 and .308 than others have mentioned here. But that's because its my business, and I'm Secretary of a rifle club at Bisley. On top of my personal FAC, I am my Club FAC holder as well, just by example, the holding for the club is 5,000 for each calibre we have, that is FIVE THOUSAND for EVERY calibre, and at one point we had a .338 Lap Mag, needless to say I don't think we could ever have afforded to go out and buy 5000 of them! And yes, a .243 can be an excellent fox calibre, so can a .223, depends on your land/circumstances/finances/etc.. Edited August 4, 2017 by Deker Quote Link to post
