Feltwad 57
The long fowler for shooting wildfowl goes back for at least 250 years the early ones were flintlock with a single barrell of 4 to 6 foot long and were made in big bore sizes from 2 bore to 10 bore , A 2bore was the largest shoulder gun which man good manage and was refered to has a bankgun this was a gun that was fired from the sand dunes or the sea wall at flock of waders that were feeding along the shore line of the incoming tide. The 4, 6, 7, 8, and 10 were more fore shooting flying although there long barrels did carry the shot a long way but the main reason for the long barrel was in those early days black powder was not has strong has todays powder and needed a long barrel to burn enclosed is a image or a stand of long fowler s in percussion flintlock and tube lock .
