Hornet!

 

No such thing as a euro wasp.

We got common wasps (Vespa Vulgaris)

German wasps (Vespa Germanica)

Median wasps (Dolichovespula Media)

Hornets (Vespa Crabro)

Had this big b*****d flying around when I got home , large dose of fly killer and a whack put paid to him ...

Doesn't look dead enough to me. Give it a good shoeing then burn it just to be sure.

Ha, reminds me of when we were young. Used to whack the wasps with a T towel. Pick them up, and throw them on top of the range. After a short while we'd hear the mother going mental with the stench of burning wasps. One of those smells ya never forget lol
