Many years ago whilst i was a stalking ghille i can remember the stalker knocking out the two top teeth of the red deer he kept saying the where worth money and the same guy that bought his antlers ,pizza's sinews etc bought them off him

Is it still the case today ? and is it just the hinds ?.

The market fell out of the teeth about 25 years ago they were called tusks, the pizzles are still worth a couple of pound

the orientals buy them to cook as an aphrodisiac never bothered with sinews too much work and little money.

Ive started storing them with all the other stuff thats bursting out the garage i saw a pair mounting in silver as a tie pin i thought was rather nice .

I have a heap of them, they are called Grundels round here.

 

I probably have a couple of pound in weight of them.
