Looking For A Left Handed O/u

Recommended Posts

Hi I'm Looking for a left handed o/u game gun, a proper one mind! Machined as a leftie in the factory, not one that someone has bent over his knee in the shower!

If you have a Beretta, Miroku, Browning or even a leftie stock for one of these please pm me with pics and a price or even just to get my phone number.

Find one you like and get it cast or ring around gunshops , Atb Joe

"Find one you like and get it cast?" you OBVIOUSLY haven't read my post!

"Ring around gunshops?" Of course! I wish i'd thunk of that!

firstly I posted on the forum specifically asking for a factory made left hander and i specifically excluded guns that had been cast from right to left hand. You then suggested that I have a gun cast over. Given the requirements outlined in my original post I am at a loss to see how you can conceive this as a reasonable suggestion. I have "properly" as you put it cast many guns for myself and also as commissions over the years and once, just this once, I would like to end up with a gun for myself that doesn't have those subtle telltale signs that it started out as a right hander.

Secondly (and this is a standard point across all forums) when somebody posts a wanted ad in the classifieds of a forum it really does take only the smallest of intellectual leaps to deduce that the poster has probably scoured the Internet and is now looking for a member to member deal for used goods. In threads such as this it never fails to raise a smile on my face when some tit posts "why don't you go and look in the shops" genuinely believing that they are giving good advice

Have you tried here?

seem to have 500 left hand o/u 12 bores, Joe.

Joe, good on you for trying to help mate

But, if this bloke can't give you a reply without sarcasm and name calling, f**k him.

Atb

Let me try to explain this one last time in a genuine effort to square things up.

I posted specifically asking THL members if they had a factory lh gun or even just a stock.

I specifically didn't want a cast gun. I regularly cast guns and just once I wanted something without the tell tale signs that an ou has been bent over. Most people may not care about or even be able to identify the subtly differences as long as the gun fits but to me it's a little bit similar to not wanting to "own" a gun that has been shortened and lengthened again with an extra bit of wood.

I originally said in the post I didn't want a gun that had been "bent over someone's knee in the shower" and joe suggested that I get one cast. Now, I don't know joe 777 and I have no idea why he gave me this advice. Maybe the subtleties of the humour in my post eluded him, went past his bat, etc. Either way - simply not helpful given what I had originally requested in the first post.

As for him saying "ring around gunshops" that was also clearly (as I explained at greater length in post 7 para 2) unnecessary and therefore unhelpful . If I had posted an ad looking for a pair of size 10.5 defenders, a reply saying ring around some shoe shops would be just as unnecessary and unhelpful. If I had posted an ad looking for a shooting truck, a reply saying ring around some landrover dealerships would, again, be just as unnecessary and unhelpful.

Lastly, Jonjon, I don't know you from Adam either and you don't know me, I guess if you, me and joe met in a pub with our shared interests we'd probably get on like a house on fire and we could talk about this subject in good humour. I think the internet robs us of this so I won't return the compliment and gratuitously say "f**k you too" to balance things out.

I would however suggest that you re read the thread to see who calls who names and in what order and whether directly or by mere association.

1. Go to post number 11.

2. See the last 2 words in the second paragraph.

3. Take note.

There's ways of speaking to people, especially when you've asked for help - Joe's a good 'un, he offered you what he considered to be good advice, you dived back in with a sarcastic reply.

You're right, posting on an internet forum can rob words of intended humour so, I hope you can take this the way it's meant ........ :feck:

Oh, almost forgot! does anyone on THL have a nice left handed gun they want to sell at the moment. :signthankspin:

I'm only after a factory machined left hander not one that has been cast from RH to LH. :yahoo:

And yes, I do know how to surch the interwebs :drinks: and I am looking at most places on line from guntrader down to the personals so I just thought I'd ask here to cover all bets so to speak.

Cheers all
