Right lads I gotta put a slab down for my lads conservatory the slab needs to be 4m x2.5 m and a foot thick how much ballast and cement for it

You need 3m2 of concrete. Order in one go and save on the back ache.

Not sure on the price per m2 but I recon about £100 or there abouts.

The best thing about ready mix or mix as you go is that the consistency is constant.

Or 1 metric tonne of ballast to 10 bags of dust, that'd give you 1:5 mix.

6 tonne and between 30 and 36 bags cement depending on strength that will make 3 cubic meters 4m x 2.5m x .3m

a foot thick. :icon_eek: for a conservatory seems a bit ott. could you not cut the depth of the slab and deepen for founds.

It would be cheaper to order readymix and less work 70 euro per cubic meter

Unfortunately ready mix isn't an option would need to pump it 100 ft coz they won't wait about for you to barrow it

Why does it have to be a foot thick,I think the concrete on a motorway is only nine inches thick

just guessing that should be plenty
