Okay so am going to get my first PCP, been using a springer for too long. I have settled on the Air Arms S410 Carbine .22. Now my local shop doesn't stock them, and have seen them from a very well know online outfit that will deliver to RFD for free. However, I am a bit nervous about buying like this, frankly if there is a problem I will have to send it back to original shop, and probably pay cost as well. Now I know the gun will probably be fine, but I've been burned in the past because of this.

Has anyone got any experiences of buying from online and getting delivery to RFD. Anyone had problems and can share what happened??

Firstly. Good choice. Can you not nip over to a RFD that does stock them?

I'd do this if at all possible, may also get a bit of money off as well face to face or at least have a bit of time looking at new shiny things.

Got mine sent to my nearest rfd and it was them that charged me 25 quid for it..so free delivery wasn't really free delivery! Would have put more than that in in juice though and it saved me a 4-5 hour round trip. Did check with my rfd first though if there was a charge.

I'd go the extra mile and pick one up pal.

My local rfd, who's doorstep I will never darken ever again over a recent incident, wanted £50 for the privelige.

You never know, you may just pick something else up that you like just as much??

I don't know where you live, it might help if you stated that but whatever, you should be able to get an RFD within driving distance to order you the gun of your choice.

I am not too wild about using one of these supermarket gunshops to supply me my guns for a couple of reasons. Firstly, if we just deal with the supermarket guys, your local RFD will have no real business left and therefore not enough profit to stay open which in turn means no local supplies of all the small stuff we buy and secondly you have no direct contact with a dealer so he doesn't know you from Adam and may not care a bugger if you have a problem but even if he does care, you have a load of hassle to get your gun back to resolve an issue and then get it back to you again.

Quite often the package deal is just a way of marketing with crap obsolete scopes, hard cases and bipods which are way over priced.

I think you would be far better travelling to an RFD who will supply you with the gun you want on a face to face deal.
