No mate - are you sure the chrono is spot on?

I just noticed, you shot the shit out of a full tin of peas

He tested a new 177 rifle to see if it was and it was putting out over 800fps so he say,d but i did not see it

he has no reason to say other wise he is a good rfd and a mate

but what gets me is the way its destroying every thing it hits

honest its doing my head in i cant put any more washers in her as it will not cock

the only thing that has not been done is the piston seal but the one in her looks good real good

may have to look into a vortex seal for her

That looks bloody amazing, credit to you, what a great job and something for Rob to treasure for years to come.

Great seeing the progression and it feels just like Marks dog it's like it's part of the airgun section collective !!.

Is the 35 still down on power ? The old seal has been worn/bedded/sized itself in to what the old cylinder was,now you have polished the cylinder out it might now be undersized and losing power that way. HW 35 are also well known to leak from the front breech that is soldered to the front of the action, easy to check with soapy water. If it is leaking from the breech here is a guide over on BBS showing how to fix it. hth

Nice work by the way,you can see why a lot of people prefer the older HW Airguns, well worth the effort sorting it out .

I stripped/degreased and tuned my sons 99s when I got it for him and fitted a Vortek seal while I was on. However I sized the new seal and it just would not make decent power with the polished cylinder and the more I tried to "up" the power the worse the rifles action got on firing. A mate said to get a new seal but don't size it and let it bed into the polished cylinder itself. I ordered a C seal from Aussie custom seals (identical to Vortek but impregnated with moly) and just fitted it straight from packet and removed all power washers I'd previously fitted. It was a transformation, the gun on firing was now nice and sedate and there was no muzzle flip at all. Power crept up steadily over a few hundred shots to 11.2 when before it was struggling to make 10+.

New seal on its way Mick

its the only thing that's not done to this 35 that i did do to the last one so its got to be the seal

Mind on saying that it grouped nice tonight out to 30yrds until it started to clip the mod on the way out the grub screw had fallen out and the mod was loose lol

where in the northeast are you from Mick

Just fitted the new seal and put the new spring back in as well she now has a new seal new spring and three power washers sitting in her

she cocks nice and smooth again and just a little nudge in the shoulder again she is no longer snappy as she was the other night when i had her out on a test shoot

she started off smooth then went snappy all of a sudden so i put her away mind she was pellet on pellet out to 30yrds

then she went all over the place like a scatter gun but this was down to the grub screw coming out (lost it)of the mod and the pellets were clipping the mod on the way out once this was removed and re,zeroed with out the mod she came back on target .

hitting cola can out from 30yrds to 50yrds

but she as say,d became very snappy so i put her back in the tank as i new some thing was not right

so i replaced every thing back tonight with new and she is back on form

smashing the sh*t out of bottles and i placed one can inside the other and she went strait through them at 18yrds

and this time with heavier pellets 8,04gr AAdiabolo field 0547grams

so im even happier at that

as long as this rifle is not over and is not to low she will be on her way home soon as iv done a few little jobs on her

the old piston seal had lost its edge but i could only see this when i put the new one next to it

then its a test shoot at the range just to put her through her paces from 35mtrs to 60mtrs

then it will be a quick clean up and she will be ready to go home mate

just a few little jobs to do first today

Sorry lads crono,d with jsb rs 7,33gr

but just as good with the AA field 8,4gr

well i picked up the bis butt pad mate and set about fitting her

first i had to mark new holes for the back plate then fit the plate to the stock

then use a marker to draw a line around the plate

and grind it back to fit the stock

once this is done you then fit it back on the stock to see if it fits right

you may have to draw round it again so you can remove any more of the stock plate

once this is done you then fit the rest of the butt pad together and jobs a good un

fitted a new stock pin as well for you rob you just need the barrel band now mate and you can fit a gun belt to her

NOW LETS BE HONEST ROB I WAS SENT AN OLD GIRL THAT DID NOT JUST NEED A NEW DRESS

BUT NEEDED A FULL BLOWING MAKE OVER

AND I THINK IV GIVEN HER THAT MY FRIEND
