Camera For Pics Of Birds

Recommended Posts

It really depends on what you want to spend. Birds are mostly small and move a lot so a DSLR and 300mm or over would be my choice but it will cost and if you are not used to a proper camera it will get in the way, be heavy but it will take proper pictures with practice.

I have ended up with a Sigma 150-600mm zoom usually at 600nm on a Canon 7Dii but I am a bit addicted.

Thinking again about your post.

I guess most modern cameras will give you some sort of result but I really would suggest a DSLR even a second hand older model. I started on Canon but there are other brands. As I said in my first reply birds are small and not easy to get close to so a 300mm lens or zoom to that focal length will help. Spend as much as you can and get out there. I sold my best shotguns for cameras and have many pictures to remember them by.
