Tracer 210 Flip Up Filter.

Has anyone adapted a 210 red filter to a flip up filter.

Like the 1 on a cluson.

It's fiddly trying to put it on and remove it.

Then it's a pain when it's off the lamp.

I'm thinking of screwing it on with a little hinge.

But the hinge wouldn't be stiff enough to hold it up.

Any ideas.

This might sound a bit stupid but what about a Velcro strip across the top of the lamp and on top of the red filter wouldn't this stop the chance of it snapping off and make it easier to pull off and attach it again ? Don't know if this helps mate

Im not sure but i think (the trunk) uses a simaler thing that u described

Why don't you put the hinge on the bottom so the filter dropped under not resting on the top all the best george

I don't think that would work mate its a tight fit to put the filter on.

I've snapped a lug off and bent 2 lugs out a bit.

If the hinge is slack the filter will keep dropping down I think.

Ideally the hinge would be on the top.

There's only a small lip on the lamp to attach some kind of hinge.

Sorry for intruding guys but do you really see any noticeable difference by using the filter? Personally I never did & found them to be more of a hindrance than an aid to catching critters

Theres a few lamp shy places were I go fuji.

And can scan the field quicker to pick up the eyes.with a red filter I find.

With just the white light I seem to be looking at the ground and my eye seems to be distracted I'm looking more for the eyes.

But the red filter the eyes just appear easier for me.

Each to there own I think.

I'm sure my eyes need looking at I'm doing the squinting thing reading the last few yrs lol.

I hope I don't end up with glasses hanging on the end of my nose lol.

I used to drill a hole on the top of the lamp and drill a hole in the filter then use a key ring through both and you just flip it up and down.

I just use a 210 with a dimmer for them lamp shy critters works a treat for me atb longers01

Cut the clips right off the filter drill hole through the bottom of the lamp and filter and tread key ring through the both job done way less hassle and fiddling about in the dark and you'll never lose it either ?

I've got a 170 that needs rewiring.ive just been in the shed for half hour.

The fault ive got is the bulb housing.

The round silver bit the bulb sits in.

I've hard wired the bulb direct to the battery and it's working fine.

Can new bulb housings be bought any were.

I wouldn't waste your time tryin to rewire it mate I just sent mine off to deben to be repaired. Sent them email firstly saying how much of a valued customer to deben I am and they repair it free of charge.

im not sure sorry mate they'll probably say no tho so you'll buy a knew one, my old blitz variable proper melted inside the handle I had to rewire that aswel but the dimmer didn't work after and I lost all faith in it after a few more faulty lamping sessions so bought the new 170 enforcer and a cordless one of d Lloyd
