So guys,I've just landed myself abit of extra land to mooch which I'm double chuffed about.Only problem is due to a horrific accident before Christmas I find myself with no lurcher to run on it.The land itself consists of a couple of small horse fields and a bit of rough.The real gem in the equation is the hedge lines..absolutely riddled with Bunny's!!.In the kennel at the minute Ive a pocket beagle,without blowing my own trumpet an absolute corker of a bushing dog,but no where near fast enough to get on terms with a flushed coney,so I need another string to my bow.I want another lurcher but can't make up my mind what to get.I have the rights on the neighbouring farm as well which is big open ground,but everything stays relatively close to hedgeline.I need something quick on the take off that's a cert,but wouldn't mind somert with some staying power if you know what I mean,but on the flip side I don't want owt big??

If your only after rabbits and want something small and quick off the mark get yourself a whippet

Only thing that puts me off a whippet are their feet,and potency for opening up.Before I start something here,the whippets I've been out with were prone to getting their toes knocked up regular and this part of the country can be very unforgiving.

if it's rough ground maybe a collie whippet or a small collie grey. If I was you I'd go for a collie grey around 23tts not to big but not to small and will fill the pot day in night out

So you need something that has some staying power I understand what you mean you need a dog that can do both am I right in saying that.

I had a first x saluki whippet a couple of years ago.was perfect for smaller fields. ferreting and bushing ect. but couldn't hack big land and long runs..(jacked),would highly reccomend one for bunny bashing.
