Thats being as naive as Desertbred,if we are talking percentages then the thug will outmuller the graceful one,yet many a fox slayer owns saluki ancestry,they run further,longer and dont suck the life out of their catch either.

No it's not it's being honest and realistic, there's fox dogs and there's fox dogs.

Honesty and Bull type lurchers,hilarious.Again it never ever ceases to amaze me that the fox was known as lurcher quarry for centuries before the bullshit hit the fan.The finest fox slayers in my lifetime never owned bull in their breeding and the main reason for the bullshit explosion is piss poor lurcher breeding and owners that sought the advantage of the quick and easy fix.Less than a few decades ago the bull bred lurcher never surfaced because there were better options more readily around,the computer was the Bullshit salvation,ego,s and blood lust,nothing more.

What are you talking about? You believe it's only Bull cross owners that tell fibs? No No No, less than a few decades ago there wasn't many Bull crosses because there wasn't any Bulls over here to put over the Greyhounds. With the arrival of the APBT the Lurcher men cottoned onto something and discovered a cross that was unrivalled for the stuff that bites back.

 

spot on thats the words (bites back) , any lurcher x will take few foxes, its when they had old charlie clamped on the muzzle or leg fair few times , they deff think about if they want this type quarry if they are doing them regular . there no doubt about it , the apbt can handle pain better than any other type dog. but as with everything when it watered down and x to another breed you will loose that grit of a pure .But even watered down, when x back to a greyhound you still get a good lump of it, as greyhounds can be very full dogs when hunting . suppose it comes down to how much fox work the dog will get, if alot and plenty of runs, well a drop of saluki in the mix will deff improve that. if i was wilf just go for dogs doing them regular , and lurchers with bull and saluki in the mix, ive always liked the bullx grey x saluki , on paper it sounds spot on

I'm not a Bull x lover in fairness many of them are just a bit too one dimensional for me,their wind is poor if lamping bunnies in numbers but then again I guess why would you get a bull type for bunnies only lol,they are just too slow for anything in the day in the majority of cases,obviously their grit & determination can't be ignored,they are fantastic around an earth or for lamping out the motor & sent straight onto gear there's no question about that.Like most crosses they have their strengths & weaknesses in regards to hunting,I'm not kennel blind to the type infact we have one & she is earning her corn,I think a little bull blood in the mix goes a long way,the 1st x & 3/4 breds don't float my boat truthfully but I think a bit of bull blood in a coursing type may make handy mutts or into a racy collie type to.The only guarantee with lurchers is that you will be feeding it & cleaning up it's shite lol..

there's a lot like other breeds that are so much different. I found some to be a liability and not so great when your out but also saw good ones work. I don't lamp mine , I ran it last night on three rabbits on a good enough little field.first one after second turn was through hedge. Next one squatting clipped it and the two runs after was never getting near them after first turn and rabbit just ran across the field. Foxes i only used it in day and the ground it covered other week was amazing and was flying it , ditches to make the ground and was well quicker. Would also use it nose . be a fit dog .wish was younger lol even though you think it was at a good prime age up for it . wouldn't even look at livestock though so quite intelligent and brought up right and with dogs. Again though how many are like that

It's swings and roundabouts the generation bred the bull xs does definately improve coats grit threshold ta pain the list goes on line bred they naturally beginn to lose that massive muscle mass and become more useful runners. A little drop of the right bull blood does seem ta fizz em up saluki blood does the same but there qualities are passed ta what they known for the ability ta stay sound and recover etc,the same could be said fa all the breeds they live a bit of this and that hence a mixed bred can produce bull temps collie temps sal temps and it can go on, breeding straight f1s in the hope one gets abit of both his being safe in ones desired animal,I see it this ways mixed bred stuff will always be a better option my view y'all have something ta work with and they usually become we'd to either game or quarry and if ones really lucky both. Be lucky fellas and keep at it feck age it's only a number stay young be safe atb bunnys.

just been in season. Never been bred of .and no plans too. That's the way it goes .and if it not suiting ya you can always give it a bullet as the man told me who gave it me . but suits me and I stick with it .or I wouldn't have it.
