dicks with air rifles that cant shoot right.

Unfortunately it happens to everyone and when someone claims they don't miss shots they are talking out of their arse! Not always the actions of dicks, sometimes its just one of those things (not saying your estimation isn't accurate though, I've seen and heard some worrying things over the years I've been hunting)

For me, air rifle shooting has to be done with a far larger amount of care than rimfire / centrefire. It's better to try and take a headshot and get a clean miss than a heart / lung and get a bad hit.

Admittedly, as soon as you take the plunge and go from a 16 grain sub 12fpe air rifle pellet to a 3000 feet per second vmax it becomes a case of anywhere in the front 1/3 and its not even gonna twitch. a body shot isn't going to leave much for the table unless your only out for ferret food to begin with!

I used to get a fair few round the small holdings i think one of the owners sons had a air gun and the rest agreed to let him shoot there , i used to ferret it and lamp it with my rimmy and when you where gutting them you would find the pellet in the rabbit often a hard lump had grown round it like a spot i suppose but once i got it weeping gunk more like a pluke

I've had rabbits with 22 bullets in them as well as airgun pellets, one I had a couple of years ago had 3 bullets in it, and endless buck shot. Normally find them after I've fed the rabbits to the ferrets, you can here them rattling around in the shavings when you clean them out.

Had one the other year but the owner of the land we were on, did say the land owner next door(we had permission for his land as well as the warren bordered the land)used to sit up in his garden in the summer evenings taking shots at the bunnies. We found a pile of beer cans shoved in the entrance to one of the holes.
