Lurchers Ratting

Had a good do on the long tails today ending the day with 103, was just me and my pal today with two terriers and 2 lurchers.

I always take a lurcher or two with me on a days ratting and they catch most the ones that try to sly away whilst terriers are digging away.

Many on here take a runner or two on a days ratting ?

Go ratting about a dozen times throughout season I always take a runner or 2. I find it sharpens them up and keeps them ticking over. Love the ratting, keep at it pal

She did. Whilst the terrier where end up she would just sit about 5 yards back

It's OK if you don't mind your lurcher learning to be hard mouthed which to be honest most lads don't coz rabbits are worth f**k all really . Great fun though

I would love to do a lot more ratting, on the occasions I have been, my Beddy x Whip comes along and loves dispatching ratty ?

Yes rats and some use dogs as in this thread and somega use guns

I have done in the past but you don't get the numbers you do with dogs

See I don't have that trouble with mine he will still retrieve live rabbits
