Would it not be worth trying to get a job closer to home? To be fair my lass has no problem with the dogs but I wouldnt expect her to look after them for two weeks at a time aswell as the kids.

spot on , ok regards the job you have to take what.where it is, more so if it well paid .But regards the dogs , my wife would never put her self in way that she got to look after the dogs (never).Ive been married 34 years, got a son 30 , my wife attitude is there your hobby, you knew this when you had the dogs, so look after them your self , and being honest she right really. there outside in kennel+ run , there not house dogs she doesnt want a dog in the house , so why should my wife want to be involved with them.In Fact this last 8 -9 years ive struggled with my dogs, just walking/ feeding them , as ive got a on going lower back prob thats getting worse as ive got older, and many time ive hobbled along just about walking them. i know that if didnt make the effort and believe me ive had to dig deep when the pain that bad, i know if i didnt i have to put the dogs down . we should deff start as we mean to go on , there our hobby our dogs so we should look after them our selves, not our wives or anybody else  .

By the same token, the lads not working offshore for the good of his health, hes doing it for the sake of making a good life for his family. Dont know his mrs. circumstances re work etc but if she cant understand his motives for wanting her to do the dogs while hes away, perhaps he wants to f**k her off as well imo

It's life choices IMO. You choose the life of working away for good money BUT you see less of your family and dogs plus put more pressure on the Mrs. Or you work in a lesser paid job and are home every night, don't havto rely on anyone to look after the dogs and put less strain on your relationship. It's your own personal choice.

Sorry I disagree, if you have dogs they are part and parcel of everyday life, just like having kids, cooking, cleaning, gardening, home maintenance etc etc, if its a partnership, both partners should do what needs to be done to keep the equilibrium, I was a house husband for a couple of months, piece of piss lol

In an ideal world we could all have a Penny Taylor lol, wonder what's she like at cooking?? (Only joking Penny)

Brilliant cook me. Pheasant and rabbit pie my speciality.

Seriously though, I find it so sad when what is one partner's reason for living is treated like a vice by the other, and although I don't like to disrespect the sisterhood, that other is so often 'er indoors'. What is it with some women, who marry a man who lives and breathes hunting with dogs, and yet won't lend a hand with the mutts when he's working away for the sake of the whole family. Mind you, I once married a man who didn't like dogs, so I can't really talk. :icon_redface: Not that the relationship lasted very long, once I'd realised my grievous mistake. We spend our youth making mistakes, so that, hopefully, we can end our lives peacefully coexisting with someone who accepts the whole of us, dogs and all, and not just one side of who we are.

Haven't been on here in a while and haven't been shooting in a while so I'm deciding so sell some gear and focus on other things.
Firstly is my BSA lightning tactical xl in .177 comes with hawke hd 3-9x40 scope, one piece mounts and a LED ray gl2 torch with flip up red filter and buffalo river case.
Only fault with the gun is the front sling swivel is missing.
I also have a mad dog growler jacket in APG size medium
A top gun skeet vest size medium
      British army Dpm smock medium-large
British army issue jungle boots size 11
Large jack pike shooting hold all
British army cam net unsure of size but large enough for a personal hide
I would like to see £130 for the rifle but I'm open to offers for everything together in a bundle
Collection only for the rifle but the other items I can post and take paypal payments
      I'm in Warminster Wiltshire
      Thanks
