Man Sheds

Recommended Posts

Last photo is off my fav taxi the sparrow hawk , the pic doesn't do it justice , my fav bird of prey , love watching them though it's more luck than judgement when I do see them , though finding a nest is the best views I've ever had .

You wanna get a sparky to put you a few proper double sockets in there before you end up with no shed.

Ive never understood the fascination some blokes have with sheds a mate of mine has a massive great big thing with a bar and pool table, fruit machines......why ??.....who wants to stand in a shed down the bottom of your garden with no atmosphere acting like its a pub just go to a pub !......some of the sheds with nice views i can understand that sitting relaxing on a nice summer evening but just having a shed to escape the ol woman thats like admitting defeat.

My dogs live outside & don't use the house ( my mrs would have them indoors but I won't) , the shed is where i can have a sit down watch a bit of Tele with them round me , I also keep my gear ( boots , Wellies , coats ect) in there , its a nice place to relax & I'd rather have it than not have it , in fact I'm just back in there now with them .

Looks like I'm the only one here who built a shed as a workshop :laugh::laugh:

Table saw, lathe, bandsaw, planer/thicknesser, chop saws, morticer, grinder, pillar drill etc. plus all the hand tools. Made a fair few bits of furniture to be fair and thoroughly enjoyed working with quality wood.

Used to quite enjoy sitting in there planning what to make next whilst quaffing half a dozen pints of homebrew (strictly no use of machines whilst imbibing).

It really does need a good tidy up now though.

Cant smoke in a pub, pubs have to close at a certain time an theres only your chosen few mates there so can talk freely and not worry about offending other folk, its bigger than our living room so better for things like family coming over, projector for kids. Plus it saves the missus moaning about ye making a mess or if she got mates over or kids having sleep overs its somewhere to go chill with the mutts without mingling with the locals haha ye ever up this way an i aint busy ill give ye a few beers its against law im sure to sell it hahaha honestly tho its a nice option, now we can have can extra choice, go to pub, or stay in with mates haha i must admit tho i rarely drink an really only use it for sports on big screen if summat i fancy or i do need to escape house for a while haha

Oh im not knocking it each to their own and all that i used to have one myself half of it was a bird room the other half housed a great big aquarium i get it for animal/hunting related stuff like Lanesras or taxidermy that makes sense.......but as another room to socialise couldnt you just whack a conservatory on the back of your house........i suppose walking home legless is a lot safer though :D ......is your beer on tap ? my mate went and got himself an account with The Five Points Brewing Company its like a little conservative club down the bottom of his garden !

This one is mine. A bit on the small side. Built as a pig sty. One side is full of useful stuff (old crap) and the other is where everything happens.

These pictures show it as really untidy but I struggle with the small size of it. It looks much better now.

I have power and lighting. A big bench (my old kitchen table) with a substantial vice on it.

Love these threads.

Went to the bank a month or so ago to see if I can get funds when I remortgage....they said yes. So hopefully by the end of next year I'll have the place I've been wanting for a long time.

I've already got the base....it's roughly 18ft x 24ft. Hopefully turn out exactly how I imagine it.??
