terryd 8,024
Weather was nice this morning a lovely white frost just the ticket for ferreting. Off round the sheep farm for a bit of stock training. But mixy has cleaned that farm out for this winter but it was just a matter of getting round the woolies so we don't end up on a youtube video . Off to the next spot then hardly a hot spot but worth a walk. As we drove by the gate I spotted a rabbit sitting by the wood. No chance of getting it to ground in that cover but some thing for the dog to have a rattle about for. As we climbed over the gate old charlie came walking round the corner so got the dog looking the other way while it nipped into cover out the way. He didn't see it but certainly scented it He really didn't want to let it be but I got him going Into the next field then and I spotted another charlie in the distance and this one was a good way from any cover of substance lol. I got a lead on him as once he hits scent his gone and at speed. Just as well as soon as I got to the gate he new it was about. old charlie had scooted around the field by now and got him self by the cover and safety so he sat on his arse watching us got the dog interested in some rabbit scent and made our way on next on the agenda was a squirrel never got me catty when I need it so we left that be and set off looking for a rabbit but no rabbits for us today. But just nice to be out and about on such a nice day 7 Quote Link to post
